Prayers.

Stodscombe, &c. Manors.

A BILL for discharging the Manors of Stodscombe and Holwell, and other Lands in the County of Devon, from the Trust of One hundred and Fifty Years, made unto John Earl of Exeter, John Earl of Bridgwater, and Oliver Earl of Bullingbrooke (sent from the Lords), was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, That the same be committed to Mr. Coriton, Sir Anthony Irby, Mr. Buller, Sir Clifford Clifton, Sir Wm. Lewes, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Samuell Trelawney, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Newton, Sir Benjamin Ayloff, Mr. Bullen Reames, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Mr. Eyre, Mr. Kirkby, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Mr. Whitley, Sir Robert Brooke, Sir Chichester Wrey, Sir Lancelot Lake, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Winston Churchill, Mr. Jonathan Trelawney, Sir Charles Hussey, Mr. Knight, Mr. Smith, Mr. Speccott, Mr. Gilby, Sir Edm. Peirse, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Clarke, Sir Solomon Swale, and all the Members that serve for the Counties of Devon and Cornwall: And they are to meet, in the Speaker's Chamber, To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records; and to summon and hear all Parties concerned.

Poor Relief.

Ordered, That the Persons hereunder named be added to the Committee to whom the Bills for the constituting Corporations in the Cities, Boroughs, and Market Towns in England and Wales, for the better Relief and Employment of the Poor in general; and within the Cities of London and Westminster, and the Liberties thereof; and the Bills of Mortality; are committed; viz. Sir Maurice Barclay, Sir John Goodrick, Mr. York, Sir Richard Braham, Sir John Brampston, Sir Robert Brook, Mr. Knight, Sir Wm. Fleetwood, Lord Willoughby, Sir Benjamin Ayloff, Mr. Rigby, Sir Lancelot Lake, Mr. Jonathan Trelawney, Mr. Whitley, Mr. Whorwood, Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Henry North, Mr. Goodrick, * Browne, Sir John Shawe, Mr. Culliford, Sir Edm. Privilege-Persons discharged.

Ordered, That Daberon, that was sent for to the Committee to which the Bill for Execution of certain Persons attainted of High Treason, was committed, in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, be discharged, paying his Fees: And that James Bickerstaffe, that was also sent for in Custody, but was only concerned as a Witness, be discharged, paying the Serjeant at Arms such Charges as he hath been put to, in sending for and keeping the said Bickerstaffe in Custody.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you a Bill for settling the Manor and Lands of Kemisford in Sir Henry Frederick Thin, and the Heirs of his Body; and the Manor of Buckland, and divers other Manors and Lands, in him, and the Heirs Males of his Body; with some Amendments, to which they desire your Concurrence:

And another Bill to enable Sir Anthony Browne to sell Lands to pay Debts; to which they also desire your Concurrence.

Ordered, That the Amendments to Sir Henry Frederick Thynn's Bill be read To-morrow Morning; and the other Bill on Friday next.

Bullingbrook, &c. Common.

A Petition of the Lords, Owners, Freeholders, and other Inhabitants of the Twenty-two Towns within the Soak of Bullingbrook, and of the Eight Towns of East Holland, having Common of Pasture in the East and West Fen in the County of Lincolne, was this Day read.

The Question being put, To have the Petition committed;

It was Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of Grievances, to take the said Petition into Consideration: And that the said Committee be revived; and do sit on their accustomed Day.

Relief of Loyalists.

Ordered, That the Committee for Relief of such as have served his now Majesty, and his Father, be revived; and do meet, in the Speaker's Chamber, To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Sheriffs Accounts.

Ordered, That the Committee concerning Sheriffs be revived; and do sit in the Exchequer Chamber this Afternoon, at Five of the Clock.

Excise Revenue.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Committee formerly appointed for the Inspection of the King's Revenue be joined to the Committee last appointed, to receive Proposals touching the Advance of the Excise; and do examine the Books of Account touching the Excise; and receive the Returns from the Members of this House upon the Letters sent into the several Counties; and also to receive such Proposals as shall be made by any Persons in relation to the Excise; and to make Report thereof to the House, with all the Speed they can: And that they do meet, in the Exchequer Chamber, this Afternoon, to inspect the Books of Accounts; and afterwards, from time to time, for the Purposes before directed: And it is particularly recommended to Mr. Milward, to take care of this Business; and to see it expedited.

Lords reminded of Bills.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Lords to desire them to give Dispatch to the Bill of Uniformity; and for confirming the Act for Ministers: And the Lord Falkland is to carry up this Message to the Lords.

Private Business.

Resolved, That for Three Weeks, from this Day, no private Business shall be taken into Consideration, or be proceeded in, after Nine of the Clock, save only on Saturday next, which is hereby reserved for the Business of the Fens, already appointed for that Day.

The House did then resume the Clause upon the ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, to make void Fines unduly procured to be levied by Sir Edward Powell, and his Lady.

And an Order of the Four-and-twentieth of this Month being read, by which the Bill was appointed to be read this Day the Third time;

And, after a long Debate had upon it;

Upon Information given by several Members of this House, That Mr. Challoner Chute, being at the Door of this House, had spoken reproachful Words against the Honour and Justice, and in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms, attending this House do apprehend Mr. Chute, and bring him in Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer the Misdemeanor and Breach of Privilege objected against him.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees which were to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned; and do sit To-morrow, at Two of the Clock, in the Places appointed.
