Hatfeild Level.

ORDERED, That the Committee to whom the Bill for Hatfeild Level is referred, do meet in the Speaker's Chamber, on Tuesday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

A Person discharged.

Ordered, That Mrs. Bedloe, being the Person that delivered in Papers, for some Members to be of the Committee for the Bill concerning Hatfeild Level, be discharged of her Commitment to the Serjeant at Arms, without Fees.

Ly. Wandesford's Estate.

A Bill for the Vesting and Settling the Lands, therein mentioned, upon William Brownlow, and others the Trustees for the Use of the Lady Wandesford, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, That the same be committed to Lord Ancram, Mr. Goodrick, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Col. Sandys, Dr. Birkinhead, Mr. Reames, Mr. Knight, Mr. Bulkley, Mr. John Lowther, Sir Lancelot Lake, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Sir Hen. North, Sir Clifford Clifton, Mr. Clarke, Mr. Cory, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Sir Anthony Irby, Mr. Wm. Sandys, Sir Wm. Braham, Mr. Marvill, Sir John York, Mr. Lucy, Sir Allan Broderick, Mr. Garraway, Mr. Clifford, Sir Baynham Throckmorton, Mr. Scudamore, Colonel Phillips, Mr. Henley, Mr. Churchill, Mr. Chetwind, Mr. York, and all the Members of this House that serve for the Counties of Hampshire and Sussex: And they are to meet in the Exchequer Chamber, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, on Tuesday next: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And all Persons concerned are to be called in, and heard; and to have convenient Time to come in.

Privilege.

Serjeant Charlton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, touching the Commitment of John Pointz, Francis Pointz, John Grove, John Greene, John Warren, That the Committee was of Opinion, that they were guilty of the Breach of Privilege; but did recommend them to the House, to discharge them; having been a good while in Custody.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee: And that the said John Pointz, Francis Pointz, John Grove, John Greene, John Warren, and Humphrey Gyffard, be discharged, paying such Fees as Mr. Speaker shall order.

Serjeant's Fees.

Upon Complaint made, that the Serjeant at Arms attending this House doth take excessive Fees;

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed, of the Persons here under-named; viz. Mr. Pryn, Dr. Birkinhead, Serjeant Charlton, Mr. Garraway, Mr. Bulkley, Mr. Goodrick, Sir Robert Atkyns, Sir Thomas Tompkins, Sir Wm. Lowther, Earl of Ancram, Mr. Reames: And they, or any Five or more of them, are to take into Consideration the Fees demanded by the Serjeant at Arms; and to report to this House what his just Fees are: And they are to sit de die in diem, as they shall think fit: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Printer no to have Originals.

Upon Information given to this House, That the Clerk of the Lords House did permit the Original Rolls of Acts of Parliament to be carried to the Printer; and that they were there ripped in Pieces, and blotted and abused, and were in Danger to be embezzled or altered;

Resolved, That a Message be sent to the Lords, to desire them to give Order, that the Original Rolls of Acts of Parliament be kept in the Office, and not delivered to the Printer; but that true Copies be delivered to him, from the Roll, fairly written, and carefully examined and attested: And Dr. Birkinhead is to carry up this Message.

Bills sent to Lords, &c.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Meres do carry up the Bill for confirning three Acts, therein particularly mentioned, with Additions and Alterations in the last of them: And that he do put the Lords in mind of expediting the Bill for Restoring of all such Advowsons, Rectories, Impropriate Glebe Lands, and Tythes, to his Majesty's loyal Subjects, as were taken from them; and making void certain Charges imposed on them upon their Compositions for Delinquency by the late usurped Powers.

Highways &c.

Ordered, That this House will, on Tuesday next, take into Consideration the Amendments reported to the Bill for Repairing and Maintaining the Highways: And that the other Bill for Repairing and Maintaining the Highways, in and near the Cities of London and Westminster, be then read.

Public Revenue.

Militia.

Resolved, That this House will, on Thursday next, and so from thenceforward, each Day, take into Consideration the Business of the King's Majesty's Revenue one Day; and the Militia the other; alternis vicibus: And no other Business to intervene, till this be finished.

Fast Day.

Resolved, That this House will, on Wednesday next, solemnize the Fast appointed by his Majesty, in St. Margarett's Church, Westminster: And that Dr. Ryve Dean of Windsor, and Dr. Pearson, be desired to preach before this House that Day: And Mr. Serjeant Charlton is desired to give Mr. Dean Ryve Notice hereof.

Preachers appointed for 30th Jan.

Ordered, That Dr. Creyghton Dean of Wells, and Dr. Alsop, be desired to preach before this House on the Thirtieth Day of January next, in St. Margarett's Church, Westminster: And that Sir Thomas Meres be desired to give Dr. Creyghton Notice: And that the Lord Richardson do give Dr. Alsop Notice.

Militia.

Resolved, That this House will, this Afternoon, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Militia; and also to take into Consideration such Proposals as shall be offered, for preventing the present Dangers, and securing the Peace of the Kingdom.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Thompson have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

Adjournment.

Resolved, That this House be adjourned till Three of the Clock this Afternoon.

Dr. Bolton to preach on 15th Jan.

ORDERED, That Dr. Bolton be desired to preach before this House at the Fast to be solemnized in Saint Margaret's Church, Westminster, on Wednesday next: And Sir Charles Harbord is desired to acquaint him therewith.

St. Alban's Election.

The House being informed, that Dr. Aris had Notice but this Day at Noon, that the Matter concerning his Election was to be heard on Tuesday next;

Ordered, That the same be put off till Tuesday next come Sevennight.

Militia.

And then this House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Militia; and also to take into Consideration such Proposals as shall be offered, for preventing the present Dangers, and securing . . Peace of the Kingdom.

And Sir Robert Atkins made Report, That the Committee had made some Progress in the Matter to them referred; and desired, that the House would again resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, on Tuesday Morning next, to resume the said Debate.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House do resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House on Tuesday Morning, to resume the said Debate.

Ordered, That all Committees who were to meet this Afternoon, and have not adjourned, be revived; and do meet, and adjourn, on Monday next in the Afternoon.
