Army and Navy Accounts
ORDERED, That the Committee appointed to inspect the Accompts of the Commissioners of the Army and Navy shall have Power to call before them, and to inspect the Accounts of, the Treasurers of the Monies appointed for Payment of the Army and Navy; viz. Sir John Lawson, Sir James Nelthrop, Sir Tho. Player by himself, and Sir Thomas Player, and others with him, appointed Treasurers by Act of the last Assembly: And Sir George Carterett is desired to attend the Committee.
Lindsey Level.
Ordered, That all Members of this House, that shall come to the Committee to whom the Bills for Lindsey Level are committed, who are not concerned in point of Interest, shall have Votes at the said Committees.
Chambers', &c. Estate.
Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for enabling Henry Chambers, William Wharton, and John Clay, to levy Two thousand Six hundred and Ninety Pounds out of the Estate of Mr. John Hutchinson, was committed, be revived; and do sit in the Speaker's Chamber To-morrow, at Two of the Clock, in the Afternoon.
Sheriffs Accompts.
Ordered, That all Members of this House, that shall come to the Committee for preventing of the unnecessary Charge of Sheriffs, and for Ease in passing their Accompts, shall have Votes at that Committee.
Norwich Stuffs.
A Bill for the Regulating the Making of Stuffs in Norfolke and Norwich, was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be read again the Second time on Saturday Morning next.
Aulnage Duty.
A Bill for Ascertaining the Duties of Subsidies and Aulnage, was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be read again, the Second time, on This-day-sevennight.
London, &c. Streets.
A Bill for repairing, cleansing, paving, and keeping clean, the Streets and Highways in the Cities of London and Westminster, and Places adjoining, was this Day read the First time.
Members Protections.
This House taking into further Debate the great Grievance to the People, occasioned by Protections;
Resolved, That all Protections, and written Cestificates of the Members of this House, be declared void in Law; and be forthwith withdrawn, and called in; and that none be granted for the future: And that the Privilege of Members for their menial Servants be observed according to Law: And that, if any menial Servant shall be arrested and detained, contrary to Privilege, he shall, upon Complaint thereof made, be discharged by Order from the Speaker.
Ordered, That This be forthwith printed and published.
Commonwealth Money.
Mr. Secretary Morrice informing this House, That his Majesty, making the Good of his People the Subjects of his Thoughts, and considering, that the Calling-in of Money called the Commonwealth's Money, by the last of this Month, might be prejudicial to his People, and hazard the Exportation of a great Part thereof, was graciously pleased, by the Advice of his Privy Council, to direct a Proclamation to be issued, signifying his Majesty's Pleasure to accept of the said Money, in any Payment to be made to his Majesty, till the Five-andtwentieth of March next.
Ordered, That Mr. Secretary Morrice do return the humble Thanks of this House to his Majesty, for his Grace and Favour therein.
And then this House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.
