Prayers.

FIVE of the Persons named in the Bill for Naturalizing, this Day came up to the Clerk's Table, and severally took the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance before Mr. Speaker; viz. John Skase, Henry Crook, Matthew Boucherett, Peter Laurence, Cornelius Vanburnmell.

Harbin's Estate.

A Bill enabling John Harbin Esquire, to sell and dispose of several Manors and Lands, for Payments of Debts, and raising Portions for his younger Children, being ingrossed, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill should pass.

And the Question being put, That the Title of the said Bill should be, An Act enabling John Harbin Esquire, to sell and dispose of several Manors and Lands, for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions for his younger Children;

The same passed in the Affirmative, That this should be the Title of the said Bill.

Peck's Estate.

A Bill enabling Thomas Peck Esquire, to sell some Lands in Norfolk, for the Payment of his Debts, and other Uses, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That the same be read again, the Second time, on this Day Sevennight.

Clergy's temporal Jurisdiction.

Sir Robert Atkyns reports Amendments to the Bill for the Repeal of an Act of Parliament, intituled, An Act for disenabling all Persons in Holy Orders to exercise any temporal Jurisdiction or Authority, was referred: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and afterwards delivered in the same.

And the First Amendment, being in the 5th Line, that, instead of the Word "disenabling," the Word "disinabling" should be inserted; the said Amendment being twice read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Second Amendment, being in the 9th Line, that the Word "fundamental" should be omitted; the said Amendment was twice read: And

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the Committee to the said Amendment.

And the Third Amendment, being in the 16th Line, that, instead of the Word "disenabling," the Word "disinabling" should be inserted:

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the said Committee as to the said Amendment.

And a Proviso being brought in, and tendered to be made Part of the said Bill;

After much Debate thereof;

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Proviso be cast out, and laid aside: And

Resolved, further, That the said Bill, with the said Amendments, be ingrossed.

Grant to the King.

After which this House resolved into a Grand Committee of the whole House, further to debate the Bill for a free and voluntary Present to his Majesty.

And Mr. Speaker leaving the Chair;

Mr. Prinn was called to the Chair.

And Mr. Speaker afterwards taking the Chair;

Mr. Prin reported several Amendments to the said Bill for a free and voluntary Present to his Majesty: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and then delivered in the same at the Table.

And the First Amendment, being Page 1, Line 10, after the Word "Counties," put out the Word "and," and insert these Words, "Cities, Towns Corporate, and all other;" the said Amendment being twice read;

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the Committee as to the said Amendment.

And the Second Amendment, being Page 1, Line 11, omit all the Words following in that Page, after the Word "fit;" and, instead thereof, insert the Words, "for the receiving of such Subscriptions as Your Majesty's good Subjects shall voluntarily offer for a Supply of Your Majesty's pressing Occasions; and likewise to issue such other Commissions to such other Persons as Your Majesty shall think fit, for collecting and receiving the Monies so subscribed, the Acquittance of which respective Receivers, or of any one of them, are immediately to be made, and given, without any Fee, upon Payment made; and shall be an absolute Discharge for the Sum so subscribed: And, in case such Subscriptions shall, upon any Occasion, be returned into the Court of Exchequer, or any other Place, the Payment there of shall be likewise returned together with the same. Provided, that no Process shall issue out of the Exchequer against any Person so subscribing, but within Two Years next after the passing of this Act:" The same Amendment was twice read: And

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Third Amendment, being Page 2, Line 1, after the Word "Counties," put out the Word "and," and insert these Words, "Cities, Towns Corporate, and all other;" the said Amendment was twiceread: And

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Fourth Amendment, being in the same Page, Line 2, after the Word "out," insert the Words "and * *;" the said Amendment being twice read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Fifth Amendment, being in the same Page, Line 4, after the Word "Counties," put out the Word "and," and insert the Words, "Cities, Towns Corporate, and all other;" the said Amendment was twice read: And

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Sixth Amendment, being in the same Page, Line 6, after the Word "Wards," leave out the Word "Towns;" the said Amendment was twice read: And

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment.

And the Seventh Amendment, being in the same Page, Line the 8th, after the Word "Persons," add "Bodies Politick or Corporate;" and the said Amendment being twice read;

Resolved, This House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment.

And the 8th Amendment, being in the same Page, Line 12, instead of "One hundred Pound," insert "Two hundred Pound;" the said Amendment being also twice read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the said Committee in the said Amendment: And

Resolved further, upon the Question, That the said Bill, with the said Amendments, be ingrossed.

And then the House adjourned till Thursday Morning, at Seven of the Clock.
