Prayers.

Micklethwait's Estate.

A BILL for enabling Mr. Joseph Micklethwait to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions, was this Day read the Second time; and, on the Question, committed to Sir Henry Cholmely, Sir Edw. Turner, Sir Christopher Clapham, Mr. Wingfeild, Mr. Gray, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Walter Erle, Sir Salomon Swayle, Mr. Thomas, Sir Lancelot Lake, Mr. Goodricke, Mr. Lowther, Mr. Ellison, Sir Geo. Downing, Sir Wilfred Lawson, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Conyers, Mr. Shapcot, and all the Members of this House, serving for the County and City of Yorke: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Inner Court of Wards.

Loddington's Claim.

Ordered, by the and Commons in this present Parliament assembled, That the Sum of Three thousand Four hundred and Fifty Pounds, due and owing to Captain Thomas Loddington, for Provisions by him furnished for the Garison of Dunkirque, and charged by the last Council of State on the Receipt of Exchequer, be charged on the Receipt of Excise arising by the Moiety of the Excise of Beer and Ale, and paid to the said Thomas Loddington, or his Assigns, in Course, next after the other Sums satisfied, which, by former Orders of this Parliament, are chargeable on the said Receipt: And the Commissioners for the Excise are hereby impowered and required to pay the same accordingly: And this Order, with the Acquittance of the said Thomas Loddington, or his Assigns, testifying the Receipt thereof, shall be to the said Commissioners a sufficient Warrant and Discharge.

The Lords Concurrence is desired herein: And Sir Edw. Turner is to carry it to the Lords.

Lords reminded of Bills.

Ordered, That Sir Edward Turner do put the Lords in mind of several Bills sent from this House; viz. For Naturalizing of several Persons: For enabling the County of Durham to send Members to serve in Parliament: That, for confirming Leases from Colleges and Hospitals: That, for confirming Magna Charta: And also, of the Orders of this House for paying Monies out of the Excise to Sir Thomas Dacres, and Mr. Pecke.

Milward's Estate.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for enabling * Milward to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, be and hereby is revived.

Newton's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for enabling Mr. John Newton to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, was this Day read the Third time; and, on the Question, passed.

Ordered, That the Title of the said Bill be, An Act for the enabling of John Newton the younger, and William Oakeley, to make Sale of Lands for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions.

Ordered, That this Bill be sent to the Lords: And that Sir Edward Turner do carry it to the Lords.

Tobacco.

Ordered, That the Bill prepared by the Committee of Trade, for restraining the planting of English Tobacco, be read on Wednesday Morning next.

A Bill for the settling of all the Manors and Lands of the Earl of Cleveland in Trustees, to be sold, for the satisfying of the Debts of the said Earl, and of Thomas Lord Wentworth, his Son, was this Day read the Second time; and committed to Sir Lancelot Lake, Sir Tho. And the Proviso tendered to this Bill, concerning the Earl of Manchester, and George Montague Esquire, being, as is alleged, consented to by the Earl of Cleveland, and the Lord Wentworth, is hereby specially recommended to this Committee: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the inner Court of Wards: And have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Evidences, and Witnesses, and what else may conduce to the Business.

Draining the Fens.

A Bill for settling the great Level of the Fens, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time, on Thursday Morning next.

Assessment on the City.

The Question being propounded, That the Members of this House, who serve for the City of London, have Leave to bring in a Bill for charging Two Months Assessments on that City, after the Rate of Seventy thousand Pounds by the Month, for the Charge of the Trophies, Officers, and other Contingencies of the Militia there;

The House was divided:

And the Yeas went forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Private Business.

Ordered, That no new private Business be received into this House, nor any depending in the House proceeded in, for the Space of Six Days, nor, after Six Days expired, on any following Day after Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, during the present Session: And, in the mean time, Committees may proceed to prepare Reports for the House, upon any Matters depending under Reference.

Impeachment of Drake.

Mr. Solicitor General reports an Impeachment, in the Name of this House, and of all the Commons of England, against William Drake, Citizen and Merchant of London: Which was read; and, on the Question, agreed.

Resolved, That this Impeachment be ingrossed; and so brought in To-morrow Morning.

Privilege- a Person discharged.

Resolved, That Joseph Cranford, who printed the Pamphlet, intituled, The Long Parliament revived, being now in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, be discharged, and set at Liberty.

Post Office.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill concerning Postage of Letters is referred, do meet at Three of the Clock this Afternoon in the Chequer Chamber: And that Colonel King, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Reams, Colonel West, Sir John Talbott, Lord Bruice, Mr. Grey, Sir John Dawney, Sir Jo. E. of Bristoll's Claims.

Ordered, That the Lord Bruice be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for the Earl of Bristoll is referred.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bills against Profanation of the Sabbath; and against profane Swearing; be read on Wednesday Morning next.

Langhorne's Claims.

Mr. Tytus brings Answer, that he had carried to the Lords the Order of this House for Rowland Langhorne Esquire: And that the Lord Chancellor gave him Answer, that the Lords were, at that time, in Debate of a Matter of great Moment; but they had appointed a Day to consider of this, and of other things sent from the House of Commons; and that they will shortly send Answer by Messengers of their own.
