Prayers.

JOHN Lovvroo did this Day take the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance at the Table, in Order to his Naturalization.

Colchester Bay Trade.

Sir George Downing reports Amendments to the Bill for the regulating of the Trade of Bay-making, in the Town of Colchester: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Ordered, That this Bill, thus amended, be ingrossed.

Browne's Estate.

A Bill for enabling Sir Anthony Browne to sell some Lands in Essex, for the Payment of his Debts, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time Tomorrow Morning.

Preston Rectory.

A Bill for consolidating and uniting of the Rectory and Vicarage of Preston in the County of Suffolke, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on Monday next.

Droitwich Parishes.

A Bill for uniting the Parishes of St. Andrew's, and St. Mary Witton, in Droitwich, in the County of Worcester, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be ingrossed.

Earl of Winchelsea's Estate.

A Bill, ingrossed, sent from the Lords, for settling of the Priory of Wootton, and other Lands in the County of Yorke, belonging to the Earl of Winchelsea, in the Hands of Trustees, for the Payment of Debts, was this Day read the Third time, with some Amendments; And the said Bill, with the Amendments, being put to the Question, passed.

Ordered, That Mr. Charlton do carry it to the Lords.

And he carried it to the Lords accordingly.

Milward's Estate.

A Bill for enabling of Wm. Milward to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts; was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Swinfin, Mr. Barton, Mr. Pryn, Sir Ralph Ashton, Mr. Mynors, Mr. Charlton, Sir Robert Bradshaw, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Bampfeild, Mr. Lucy, Mr. Lowther, Mr. Young, Mr. Baker; and all the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, that serve for the Counties of Stafford, Lancashire, Derby, and Kent: And are to meet at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Resolved, That this House do resume the Debate upon the Amendments to the Bill for Navigation.

The Amendments to the said Bill were this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Wool and Fullers Earth.

Ordered, That the Bill prohibiting the Transportation of Wool, and Fullers Earth, be reported To-morrow Morning.

Ordered, That the Bill for Impropriations be read To-morrow Morning.

Settling Ministers.

The House resumed the Debate upon the Bill for settling Ministers.

Resolved, That the Justices of the Peace in the several Counties now in the Commission of the Peace, within their respective Counties, Limits, and Precincts; and, the Members of this House, not in Commission, in the respective Counties where they inhabit; be the Commissioners for putting in Execution the Powers in this Bill.

Resolved, That the said Commissioners have Power to call to their Assistance, in judging of Ignorance and Insufficiency, such of the ablest Divines, in the Respective Counties, as they shall think fit.

Resolved, That the Quorum of the said Commissioners be Five.

Resolved, That the Time for performing what is entrusted to the said Commissioners for this Bill, be enlarged to the Twenty-fifth of December 1660.

Resolved, That this Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Ordered, That it be referred to Serjeant Hales, Mr. Charlton, Col. King, Serjeant Littleton, Sir Edward Turner, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Bampfeild, Mr. Swinfin, Mr. Harris, Mr. Young, Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Thomas Meeres, Mr. Shapcot, Mr. Got, Mr. Chafe, * Stonehouse, Mr. Barton, and Mr. Mallet, to give Direction to the Clerk, in case of his addressing to them upon any Difficulty that he shall find, about the Ingrossing of the said Bill.

Lords desire a Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by * * * *, Two Masters of Chancery;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords desire a present Conference with this House in the Painted Chamber, on Occasion of a Message they have now received from his Majesty.

Ordered, That a present Conference with the Lords be granted, as is desired.

The Messengers being called in again, Mr. Speaker gave them this Answer;

The House have considered of your Message; and do agree to a present Conference; as is desired.

Ordered, That Mr. Hollis, Serjeant Hales, Mr. Pryn, Lord Herbert, Serjeant Littleton, Mr. Charlton, Sir John Holland, Mr. Swinfin, Sir Geo. Savile, Lord Falkland, Serjeant Glyn, Mr. Yong, Mr. Trevor, be the Committee to manage this Conference.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Thurland have Leave to go into the Country, he first paying his Poll Money.

Conference with Lords.

Sir Henage Finch reports, that the Scope of the said Conference with the Lords was, to acquaint them with a Message received from his Majesty; which was read at the Conference; and was delivered to the Committee, to be communicated to this House:

Message from the King on a Recess.

His Majesty being frequently desired, by several Members of the House of Peers, to dispense with their Absence from the Service of the House; and to give them Leave to go into the Country, for their Healths, and their Affairs: And finding that the Circuits will carry very many of the Members of the House of Commons into their several Countries; where, he doubts not, they will much advance his Majesty's Service, and the Peace of the Kingdom: And the House of Commons having, by their Speaker, desired his Majesty's Leave to go into the Country: His Majesty is graciously pleased, that both Houses shall have a Recess upon Saturday, the Eighth of the next Month: In which time, he doubts not care will be taken for the raising such Money as shall be necessary for the Payment of the Debts of the Navy, disbanding the Armies, and supporting it, till it shall be disbanded; which his Majesty desires as much as any Man. And his Majesty intends, that both Houses shall meet again upon Tuesday the Sixth of November next.

Settling Ministers.

Ordered, That Mr. Thomas do bring in the Proviso to the Bill for settling Ministers, (formerly committed) To-morrow Morning.

Private Business.

Resolved, That no new private Business be entertained, nor any private Business, depending in the House, be proceeded in, till the Day of Adjournment.

Conference desired with Lords.

Resolved, That a Message be sent to the Lords, to desire a free Conference upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference.

Ordered, That the Lord Ancram do go with this Message to the Lords.

Ordered, That the Committee who managed the former Conference, be appointed to manage this Conference.

Poll Bill.

Ordered, That the Members of this House, who are of his Majesty's Privy Council, be desired to be Remembrancers to his Majesty, of issuing a Proclamation about the Poll Bill.

Disbanding the Army.

Sir Wm. Doyley reports a Bill for giving Power to Commissioners to disband the Army: Which was this Day read the first time.

He also reports Rules, Orders, and Instructions, for disbanding the Army: Which was read.
