Prayers.

Droitwich Parishes.

A BILL for uniting of the Parishes of St. Andrewes and St. Mary Witton, in Droitwich, in the County of Worcester, was read the First time; and ordered to be read the Second time on Wednesday Morning next.

Privilege.

Mr. Cooper, a Member of this House, claimed his Privilege about the Arrest of Richard Birt, his Servant, at the Suit of Henry Newman; who detains him upon the said Arrest in the Poultry Compter, though Notice was given him, that he was the menial Servant of the said Mr. Cooper:

Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do send for the said Henry Newman, as also Edward Barber, and * Gamage, Serjeants, who arrested the said Richard Birt, in Custody, for their Contempt and Breach of the Privilege of this House.

Somersett Dukedom.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Marquis of Hertford's Bill is referred, do hear the Lord Herbert upon the whole Matter, by his Counsel, before the Bill be reported: And that they meet To-morrow in the Afternoon: And that the Lord Falkland, Colonel Harley, Mr. Bainton, Mr. Grove, Lord Bruce, Mr. George Mountague, Mr. Bunckley, be added to that Committee.

Booth's Estate.

Mr. Radcliffe, reports Amendments to the Bill for enabling of Sir George Booth Baronet, to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Ordered, That the Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.

Somersett Dukedom.

Ordered, That the Lord Herbert do produce the Patent in his Hands, touching the Grant of the Dukedom of Somersett, unto the Committee to whom the Bill, touching the Marquis of Hertford, is referred; that the Committee may, from time to time, make use thereof, as they shall see Cause.

Assessment.

Sir Wm. Doyley reports from the Committee of the Army, the Account of Robert Smith, Receiver of the Twelve Months Assessment, commencing 24 Junii 1659, and the Three Months Assessment, commencing 24th June 1660, for the County of Stafford and City of Litchfeild: Which was read; and is as followeth; viz.

The said Smith is also Receiver of the present Three Months Assessment, commencing 24 June 1660.

Ordered, That Robert Smith, Receiver of the Twelve Months Assessment, commencing 24 June 1659; and of the present Three Months Assessment, commencing 24th of June 1660, for the County of Stafford, and City of Litchfeild, do forthwith pay and satisfy the several Sums of Three hundred Ninety-five Pounds Fourteen Shillings Two-pence, and of One thousand Seven hundred Pounds, confessed, upon his Account, to be in his Hands, unto such Person or Persons, as the Committee of the Army shall appoint to receive the same: And that the said Robert Smith do stand committed to the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, until he make Payment thereof.

Settling Ministers.

The House this Day resumed the Debate upon the Proviso, tendered to the Bill touching Settlement of Ministers, formerly adjourned.-

Mr. Speaker, The Lords desire the Concurrence of this House to these Two Bills, which concern Two Lords; viz. the Lord Culpepper, and the Lord Gerrard.-

The Question being propounded, That it be referred to a Committee, to examine and state Matter of Fact, touching what Presentations have been passed under the Great Seal, where the former Incumbents are dead; and report it to this House To-morrow Morning;

And the Question being put, That That Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

So it was Resolved, That it be referred to a Committee, to examine and state Matter of Fact, touching what Presentations have been passed under the Great Seal, to Places where the former Incumbents are dead; and report it to the House To-morrow Morning; viz. to Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Henage Finch, Colonel King, Sir Tho. Meeres, Mr. Annesley, Sir Edward Turner, Mr. Bampfeild, Mr. Culliford, Sir John Hotham, Sir Solomon Swale, Dr. Cleyton, Lord Aunger, Mr. Thorneton, Mr. Swinfin, Mr. Secretary Morris, Sir John Bowyer, Mr. Harris, Sir Edm. Bowyer, Serjeant Hales, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Bulkeley, Sir Allen Broadrick, Sir Ralph Ashton, Sir Tho. Clergis, Colonel Shapcot, Sir John Northcot, Colonel Morley: And they are to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber (notwithstanding the Sitting of the Grand Committee;) with Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Witnesses, and what else may conduce to the Business.

Settling Ministers.

The humble Petition of divers distressed Ministers, whose Livings, though in dead Places, are granted away under the Broad Seal of England; in their own Names, and many others; with a Catalogue of the Names of Ministers dispossessed; were read.

Resolved, That this Petition, with the Proviso, be referred to the aforesaid Committee: And the said Committee are to present such Expedients as they shall think fit, for the expediting of this Bill.
