Poll Bill.
ORDERED, That this House be resolved into a Grand Committee, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, for carrying on the Debate of the Poll Bill; and that Report thereof be made to the House To-morrow Morning.
Supply.
The Question being propounded; that the Business of Money, for Supply of the publick Exigencies of the Kingdom, be taken into Consideration in the Forenoon of every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, weekly, till further Order;
And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;
It passed in the Affirmative.
And the main Question being put; it was
Resolved, That the Business of Money, for Supply of the publick Exigencies of the Kingdom, be taken into Consideration in the Forenoon of every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, weekly, till further Order.
Religion.
Resolved, that the Bill for Religion be read the Second time on Friday next.
Pardon and Oblivion.
The House resumed the Debate upon the Bill for General Pardon, Oblivion, and Indemnity.
A Proviso for disabling several Persons from bearing any Office of Profit or Trust within this Kingdom, was read the First time; and, upon the Question, laid aside.
Another Proviso was tendered to this Bill; that it extend not to the pardoning of any Misdemeanor, in procuring the Acknowledgement of any Fine, Recovery, or Deed, to lead the Use thereof, so that Suit be prosecuted within One Year: Which was read, and laid aside.
Another Proviso was tendered to this Act; that this Act extend not to pardon Money due for Excise of Beer and Ale, since the 24th of June 1659: Which was read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, with some Amendments, agreed unto, and ordered to be Part of the Bill.
Another Proviso was tendered to this Act; that this Act extend not to pardon any Sum of Money due from any Officer or Soldiers, for Free Quarters, since the 2d of July 1649; or to discharge any Money borrowed by any Officers, for preventing of Free Quarter: Which was read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed unto, and ordered to be Part of the Bill.
A Proviso, that this Act extend not to avoid Conveyances made for valuable Consideration in Money, by the Persons excepted, was read, and postponed to be considered of at last.
A Proviso was tendered; that this Act shall not indemnify any Person who hath entered into any Lands, called Fabrick Lands, or possessed themselves of any Rent or Revenues given for the Repair of any Cathedral, or other Church; or who hath embezled the Plate. Utensils, and Materials of such Churches, to their own private Use, for and in respect of the said Crime only: Which was read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed unto, and ordered to be Part of the Bill.
A Proviso was tendered to this Bill; that this Act, or any thing therein contained, shall not extend to acquit or discharge any Person or Persons, for and in respect of any Plate and Goods belonging to his Majesty, which came into his or their Hands and Possession, and hath by him or them been disposed of or sold, and converted to his or their own Use, since the 2d of September 1651: Which was read, and laid aside.
