Answer to King's Letter.
A MESSAGE from the Lords by Mr. Rich and Mr. Eltonhead, Masters of Chancery;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to wait upon you, to acquaint you with a Vote of theirs; by which they have appointed Six Lords to attend upon the King's Majesty, with their Answer to his Majesty's gracious Letter, and Declaration inclosed, which he was pleased to send to them.
Continuing Parliament.
Mr. Finch reports from the Committee, appointed to prepare Bills to be tendered to his Majesty, for his Assent, a Bill, declaring the Continuance of this present Parliament; which was this Day read the First and Second time, and, upon the Question, committed to Mr. Finch, Mr. Rich, Mr. Knightley, Mr. Annesley, Sir Anthony Irby, Mr. Turner, Lord Commissioner Widdrington, Mr. Serjeant Hales, Mr. John Stephens, Col. White, Mr. Pryn, Serjeant Maynard, Mr. Baynton, Sir John Northcott, Sir Walter Earle, Serjeant Glynn, Mr. Charlton, Mr. Rowse, Serjeant Browne, Mr. Crew, Lord Bruse, and all the Gentlemen of the Long Robe; who are presently to withdraw into the Speaker's Chamber: And Mr. Serjeant Maynard is to take care of it.
Purchases of Public Lands.
Mr. Finch also reports, from the said Committee, a Bill touching Lands purchased from the Trustees of the late Parliament; which was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be now read the Second time.
The said Bill was read the Second time accordingly, and, upon the Question, committed to Sir Richard Temple, Sir John Northcot, Ld. Howard, Sir Tho. Wroth, Col. Morley, Col. Birch, Mr. Finch, Col. Gorges, Col. Jones, Ld. Faulkland, Ld. General, Sir Walter Earle, Serjeant Browne, Serjeant Hales, Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, Mr. John Stephens, Col. Clobery, Col. Bowyer, Mr. Rushworth, Ld. Herbert, Serjeant Glyn, Ld. Mandevill, Mr. Pryn, Major General Browne, Sir Henry Yelverton, Sir Wilfrid Lawson, Mr. Bramston, Mr. Turner, Mr. Perrepont, Mr. Swaile, Mr. Doddeswell, Mr. Swinfin, Mr. Gerrard, and all the Gentlemen of the Long Robe; presently to withdraw into the Speaker's Chamber.
Bunce's Case.
Resolved, &c. That the Case of Alderman Bunce be taken into Consideration by this Committee.
Deferring Easter Term.
Resolved, That a Declaration be prepared to give Notice to the People, that there will be no Proceedings in Easter Term next coming, upon Causes depending in any of the Courts of Justice in Westminster Hall, until the Two last Returns of the said Term.
Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the Committee, who are to consider of Expedients for carrying on the Courts of Justice, to prepare the said Declaration, and to bring it in To-morrow Morning.
Continuing Parliament.
Mr. Serjeant Maynard reports Amendments to the Bill for declaring the Continuance of this present Parliament; which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.
Resolved, &c. That the said Bill, thus amended, be ingrossed.
Members to attend the King.
Resolved, &c. That Mr. Recorder of the City of London, Alderman Robinson, Alderman Vincent, and Alderman Bloudworth, have the Leave of this House to go to the King's Majesty, from the City of London, with the Letter, which the City sends to his Majesty, in Answer of his Majesty's Letter to them.
Answer to King's Letter.
Resolved, &c. That the Members of this House, who are to go to his Majesty with the Letter, in Answer to his Majesty's Letter to this House, be Twelve in Number.
Resolved, &c. That this House do proceed To-morrow Morning, to determine of the said Persons, in the Way appointed by the Order of this House.
Purchases of Public Lands.
Mr. Finch reports from the Committee, to whom the Bill touching Sales is committed; that the Committee cannot perfect their Report, so as to offer it to the House this Forenoon.
Resolved, &c. That the said Committee do meet at Three of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.
