Parliaments and Elections.

THE House, according to former Order, was this Day resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of a Bill for future Parliaments, and regulating Elections.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Say took the Chair.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Admission of a Member.

The Question being propounded, That Colonel Hugh Rogers be admitted into the House, to sit as a Member of the House.

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put;

It was Resolved, That Colonel Hugh Rogers be admitted into the House, to sit as a Member of the House.

Army Pay.

The House, according to former Order, resumed the Debate upon the Report made Yesterday from the Council of State.

Resolved, That Ten thousand Foot more be raised, and ready to ship, by the Middle of February or first of March next, for Recruits for the Relief of Ireland.

Resolved, That Twenty thousand Pounds be the Sum that shall be provided for setting forth these Recruits.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to state the Business of the Revenues of Papists Lands, as well of such as have been Delinquents, as of other Papists; and report it to the House: Viz. unto Major Salwey, Mr. Lechmere, Colonel Jones, Mr. Dove, Colonel Thompson, Mr Garland, Colonel Harvy, Mr. Strickland, Mr. West, Colonel Ludlow, Colonel Wauton, Alderman Allen, Mr. Weston, Mr. Long, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Stephens; or any Three of them: And this Committee are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber; and so de die in diem: With Power to send for Persons, and what else may conduce to the Business.

And Mr. Long and Mr. Miles Corbett are to take care of it.

Resolved, That it be referred to this Committee, to consider how the said Sum of Twenty thousand Pounds may be forthwith raised and advanced, for the Use of these Recruits for Ireland.

Resolved, That, whereas the Fifty thousand Pounds formerly charged upon Delinquents Estates, to be received by the Treasurers at Wars for the Use of the Armies of England and Ireland, is desired to be only applicable to the Army in Ireland; and for that some Monies have been made use of for the Armies in England, out of the Monies set apart for Ireland, which are to be repaid:

Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That Fifty thousand Pounds be assigned to the Treasurers at Wars upon the Receipts of Goldsmiths Hall, in lieu thereof, and for the better Enabling of them to supply the Forces in England and Scotland.

Resolved, That Major Salwey, at his own Desire, be dispensed withal touching his going into Ireland as a Commissioner.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider of another Commissioner to go for Ireland, in the stead of Major Salwey.

Resolved, That the Act for One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds per mensem, the Act for Sale of Delinquents Estates, and the Report for the Navy, be proceeded in To-morrow Morning, one after another; nothing to intervene: And that no other Business be taken up until those respective Businesses be finished.
