Prayers.

Late King's Servants, &c.

THE humble Petition of Cornelius Holland, a Member of Parliament, Thomas Smithsby, John Blackwell, Nicholas Bond, John Smith, and John Embrey, Servants to the late King, Queen, and Prince, was this Day read.

According to Directions in the Act for Sale of the late King, Queen, and Prince's Goods, we, the Trustees for Sale of the said Goods, do humbly certify, That, upon Examination' of a Debt owing unto Cornelius Holland Esquire, a Member of this honourable Parliament, for Wages and other Salaries due to him, as an Officer of the said late King's Son's Houshold, before the Year 1641, there is due unto the said Mr. Holland the Sum of Two thousand Five hundred Thirty-and-six Pounds and Fifteen Shillings; and owing unto him for his Salaries aforesaid.

IN pursuance of an Act of Parliament, intituled, An Act for Sale of the Goods and personal Estate of the late King, Queen, and Prince, we, whose Names are hereunder subscribed, by the said Act nominated and appointed Trustees, do certify, That the Accompt of Thomas Smithsby hath been by us examined and stated; and we find, that there is due unto him, for Goods by him delivered into the late King's Stables, Two thousand Nine hundred and Sixty-six Pounds Fifteen Shillings and Four-pence, for Livery Wages, and Board Wages; and, upon Bills signed, Four hundred and Ten Pounds and Five-pence Three Farthings; and, upon Assignment, Two hundred and One Pounds One Shilling, being in all Three thousand Five hundred Seventy-seven Pounds Sixteen Shillings Nine-pence Three Farthings, before September 1642: And that he hath always been assisting to the Parliament, and present Government, both in his Purse and Person: Witness our Hands, this Twenty-ninth of October 1650.

IN pursuance of an Act of Parliament, intituled, An Act for Sale of the Goods and personal Estate of the late King, Queen, and Prince, we, whose Names are hereunder subscribed, by the said Act nominated and appointed Trustees, do certify, That the Accompt of Captain John Blackwell hath been by us examined and stated; and we find, that there is due unto him, before September 1642, the Sum of Two thousand Seven hundred Ninety-andeight Pounds One Shilling Two-pence Farthing, for several Provisions of Grocery Wares, by him served in, for the Houshold Expence of the late King, and for several Assignments: And that the said Captain Blackwell, hath made it appear unto us, that in the Year 1641, and 1642, be voluntarily advanced and lent, upon the Propositions of Parliament, the Sum of One thousand One hundred Seventy-and-six Pounds, for the Service of England and Ireland: Witness our Hands, this Twenty-sixth Day of April 1650.

BY virtue of an Act of Parliament for the Sale of the Goods and Personal Estate of the late King, Queen, and Prince, we have examined the Demands of Nicholas Bond Esquire; and do find, that there is justly due unto him, from the late King, upon his several Bills, and for his Fee, as Keeper of the Gardens at Nonsuch, the Sum of Three hundred Thirty-two Pounds and Five Shillings, July 7th, 1650.

IN pursuance of an Act of Parliament, intituled, An Act for Sale of the Goods and Personal Estate of the late King, Queen, and Prince, we, whose Names are hereunder subscribed, by the said Act nominated and appointed Trustees, do certify, That the Accompt of John Smyth hath been by us examined and stated; and we find, that there is due unto him, before September 1642, for Provisions, by him served into the late King's Great Wardrobe, the Sum of Three hundred Thirty-seven Pounds Eight-pence: And that he hath been a Man always assisting to the Parliament, and present Government, both in Purse and Person: Witness our Hands, this 7th of May 1650.

THESE are humbly to certify, that there is remaining due unto John Embrey, Serjeant Plumber to the late King, for Plumbers Work by him done, and for Goods by him delivered, for the Repair of several of the late King's Houses, and the Tower of London, the Sum of One thousand Pounds, as, by Certificate remaining with us, upon his Oath doth appear.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That the Debt of Ten thousand Five hundred Eighty-one Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Eight-pence be paid and satisfied unto Cornelius Holland, Thomas Smythsby, John Blackwell, Nicholas Bond, John Smyth, and John Embrey, or their Assigns, respectively, out of Debts, or Sums of Money, due to the late Crown, at, or before the Twenty-ninth of September 1643, not heretofore particularly disposed of, or discharged by Order of Parliament.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of the Revenue, to take care that the Monies to be received and recovered by the said Petitioners on this Vote, be raised only out of such Sums as shall be presented by them or their Assigns, by such Means, and out of such Particulars, as are least grievous to the People: And that the said Committee do give them their Assistance in recovering the same.

Resolved, That the several Debts of Two thousand Five hundred Thirty-six Pounds and Fifteen Shillings to Cornelius Holland, Three thousand Five hundred Seventyseven Pounds Sixteen Shillings and Nine-pence to Thomas Smithsby, Two thousand Seven hundred Ninety-eight Pounds One Shilling and Two-pence to John Blackwell, Three hundred Thirty-two Pounds and Five Shillings to Nicholas Bond, Three hundred Thirty-seven Pounds and Eight-pence to John Smyth, and One thousand Pounds to John Embrey; amounting, in all, to the Sum . . Ten thousand Five hundred Eighty-one Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Eight-pence; be taken off from being charged upon the Monies arising by Sale of the Goods of the late King, Queen, and Prince; and the Security of that Act: And that the Receipt of that Treasury be discharged of and from the same, and from being liable to the Payment thereof.

Resolved, That the said Sum of Ten thousand Five hundred Eighty-one Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Eight-pence, be deducted out of the Twenty-six thousand Five hundred Pounds, paid unto the Navy, out of the Monies raised upon the Sale of the Goods of the late King, Queen, and Prince, in Part of the Thirty thousand Pounds to be lent unto the Navy, by the Act for Sale of the said Goods: And that the Navy be discharged of so much of the said Twenty-six thousand Five hundred Pounds, and of and from the Repayment of so much thereof to the Treasurers in that Act.

Late King's Property.

Resolved, That Mr. Garland do report the additional Act for Sale of the Goods of the late King, Queen, and Prince, on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock: And that Mr. Speaker do then take the Chair.

Exchequer Proceedings.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That all Sums of Money payable for Respites of Homages, Fines for Alienation without Licence, and all Arrears thereof, and all Issues for the same, and all Process out of the Court of Exchequer against any Person or Persons for or in respect thereof, and all Proceedings upon such Process, be discharged; and no further Process or Proceedings be had thereupon.

Resolved, That all Sums of Money, due for mean Rates and Arrears thereof, and all Process and Proceedings thereupon, be discharged: And that no further Seizure shall henceforth be made for such mean Rates or Arrears thereof: And all Judges, Officers, and Ministers of Justice, are to take Notice hereof.

Resolved, That these Votes be forthwith printed and published.

Resolved, That it be referred to a Committee, to prepare Instructions to be given to the Barons of the Exchequer, touching the Proceedings in the Exchequer upon the Poll Bill, the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds, and the Bill of Two hundred thousand Pounds, for the Scotts, and for the Arrears of Rents payable either into the Court of Wards, or into the Exchequer, or Committee of the Revenue, upon the Debate of the House; and to present the same to the House:

Law Proceedings in English.

The Question being propounded, That the Report, touching turning the Law into English, be now made;

It was Resolved, That the Report from the Committee for regulating Proceedings in the Law be now made.

Colonel Marten reports Amendments to the Act, touching the turning the Law into English: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

And the said Act was, upon the Question, ordered to be ingrossed; and to be brought in again This-day-sevennight.

A Letter from Sir Arthur Hesilrig, from Newcastle, of 11 Novembris 1650, was this Day read.

Delinquents Estates.

Resolved, That the Names of Sir Richard Tempest, Sir Thomas Riddell, Sir John Marlowe, and Colonel Edward Grey, be inserted into the Act for Sale of Delinquents Estates.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take care to prevent Sir Richard Tempest, and Sir Thomas Riddell, from going into the Northern Parts.

The House, according to former Order, adjourned itself to Tuesday next, Eight of Clock in the Morning.
