Prayers.

Stamford's Relief.

ORDERED, That the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament do pay unto the Widow of James Stamford, deceased, for the Relief of her and her Children, Ten Pounds, out of the Money in the Box.

Door shut.

Ordered, That the Door be shut till One of the Clock.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

The House this Day proceeded with the Debate upon the Report Yesterday.

Resolved, That the Lands of the late Deans, Deans and Chapters, be discharged of the Sum of Five thousand Pounds, with Interest, to Major General Browne, formerly transferred on those Lands.

Resolved, That the Lands of the late Deans and Chapters be discharged of the Sum of One thousand Pounds charged upon the said Lands as payable to Major General Massey, and assigned to Mr. Letheuilier.

Resolved, That, forasmuch as it appeareth, that the said Sum of One thousand Pounds was assigned unto Mr. Letheuilier the Twenty-fourth Day of November 1648, which was after Major General Massy was a Delinquent, that the State be absolutely discharged of and from the said Debt.

Dibauding Forces.

Major Salwey reports from the Committee of Obstructions, The Report of the Sub Committee, concerning the Five thousand Pounds given by the Parliament in Anno 1646, for the disbanding the Forces in Derbishire; viz.

WE find Five thousand Pounds ordered by Parliament in August 1646, to be allowed and paid unto the Committee of that County, for the Disbanding of their Forces as they lie in their Quarters, forth of the Delinquents Estates there.

We find there is paid already unto them as Part of the said Monies £. s. d.

We find that 1,018£. 10s. is in Arrear to the said County of Derby, as appears under the Hand of Michael Herring, Treasurer 1,018 10

Resolved, That the Lands of the Deans and Chapters be discharged from the Sum of Four thousand Pounds to Major General Browne, formerly charged upon the said Lands.

Resolved, That the State be discharged of all the Debt of Two thousand Four hundred Pounds to the County of Derby, transferred upon the Security of Dean and Chapters Lands, except the Sum of One thousand and Eighteen Pounds Ten Shillings, yet remaining unpaid.

Resolved, That the Lands of Deans and Chapters be absolutely discharged of and from the whole Charge of Two thousand Four hundred Pounds to the County of Derby, formerly charged on that Security.

Resolved, That the said Sum of One thousand and Eighteen Pounds, Remainder of the Two thousand Four hundred Pounds to the County of Derby, be charged upon Delinquents Estates, which shall be sold.

Resolved, That the Lands of the late Deans and Chapters be discharged of the Sum of Three thousand Seven hundred and Two Pounds, Part of the Debt charged thereupon for the County of Hereford.

Resolved, That the said Sum of Three thousand Seven hundred and Two Pounds, charged upon the Lands of the late Deans and Chapters for the County of Hereford, be discharged from being a Debt from the State.

Resolved, That the Lands of the late Deans and Chapters be discharged from the Sum of Three thousand Five hundred and Thirty-six Pounds Fifteen Shillings and One Peny, for Scottish Officers, formerly charged on that Security.

Resolved, That the said Three thousand Five hundred and Thirty-six Pounds Fifteen Shillings and One Peny be absolutely discharged from being a Debt from the Commonwealth: And that the Commonwealth be discharged thereof.

Fee-farm Rents.

Major Salwey reports from the same Committee, their Opinion;

"That Three hundred thousand Pounds be charged upon the Fee-farm Rents, over and above the Three hundred thousand, already charged upon the same."

"That the Three hundred thousand Pounds, now to be charged, and the Remainder of what was formerly charged upon the Fee-farm Rents, and shall not be contracted for before the First of October, be raised upon the Security thereof, by Way of Loan: And that due Encouragement be offered to invite Persons voluntarily to advance towards the same: And that the Remainder of the aforesaid Loan be raised upon the said Security, by way of Assess, according to such Rules as the Parliament shall give for assessing and raising the same; respect therein being had to former Rules given by Parliament, in Cases of like Nature."

Resolved, That Three hundred thousand Pounds be charged upon the Fee-farm Rents, over and above the Three hundred thousand already charged upon the same, for the Forces by Land and by Sea.

Resolved, That the House do proceed with the Debate upon the Remainder of this Report To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That the Bill for raising One hundred thousand Pounds upon the Securities of Deans and Chapters Lands, and Glebe Lands, be brought in on This-daysevennight.

Whereas there have been several Sums of Money advanced by Colonel Ralph Harrison, upon an Ordinance of 28 Maii 1644, intituled, An Ordinance of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, for reimbursing of Captain Wm. Edwards the Monies to him due for the Service of the State, and for his better enabling to proceed on in the said Service; for which there is due unto the said Colonel Ralph Harrison, Nine hundred and Seventy-six . . . . . . and upwards; It is Ordered, by the Parliament, That the said Colonel Ralph Harrison be admitted to double the said Sum of Nine hundred and Seventy-six Pounds, or any Part thereof, upon Dean and Chapters Lands: And that the Trustees, Treasurers, and other the Officers for Sale of the said Lands, be authorized and required to admit him to double the same, accordingly: And that the Lands of the said Deans and Chapters, yet unfold do stand charged with such Monies as the Sums due to said Colonel Ralph Harrison upon such Doubling shall amount unto.

Resolved, That the Trustees, Treasurers, and other the Officers for Sale of the said Lands, be authorized and required to admit and accept of the said Monies so douled, in Part of the Purchase Money for any of the said Lands purchased, or to be purchased, by the said Colonel Ralph Harrison, or his Assigns.

Oaths, &c. before Exchequer.

An Act for the discharging all Lords of Liberties, or their Bailiffs, from taking any Oath, passing any Accompt, or suing out any Quietus est, in any Office in the Court of Exchequer, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read again the Second time on Tuesday Morning, the first Business.

Deans and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Surveyors, and the Certificates of the Treasurers, for Deans and Chapters Lands, be read, when the Act touching Doubling on Deans and Chapters Lands is brought in.

Norfolk Weavers.

Resolved, That the Amendments to the Bill touching the Worsted Weavers of Norfolk and Norwich be reported on Wednesday next, the first Business; nothing to intervene.

Cony's Claims.

Resolved, That the Commissioners of Goldsmiths Hall be, and are hereby, impowered and authorized to give Warrant to the Treasurers of that Receipt, to pay and satisfy the Sum of Four hundred Pounds unto Richard Cony, which was ordered to him by the Parliament the Ninth of July 1649, to be paid to him by the Treasurers for Sequestrations in the County of Lincoln: And the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Richard Coney shall be their sufficient Discharge in that Behalf.

The humble Petition of Colonel William Boothby was this Day read.
