Prayers.
Barwick Garison.
ORDERED, by the Parliament, That the Sum of Five hundred Pounds, formerly charged on the Remainder of the Fine of the Lord Pagett, to be paid for the Use of the Garison of Barwick, in regard that Fine is already paid, be charged on Haberdashers Hall; to be paid out of the Money that shall come in upon Mr. Timothy Carter's Bond, or such other Monies as shall come in there, with all Speed, to such Persons, and on such Acquittances, as the former Sum was ordered to be paid.
Army Arrears.
Colonel John Jones reports Particulars presented to the Parliament, in order to the Removing of Obstructions in stating the Accompts of the Soldiers, and thereby enabling them to become Purchasers, for Satisfaction of their Arrears, according to the Intention of the Parliament.
Which were this Day read the First time, at large; and after were read by Parts.
Ordered, That the Second Article in the said Paper be committed to the Committee of the Army: Who are to consider thereof according to the Debate of the House; and report their Opinions therein to the House.
Ordered, That the Third Article in the said Paper be committed to the same Committee; to consider thereof; and report their Opinions to the House.
Ordered, That the Fifth Article in the said Paper be committed to the same Committee; to consider thereof; and report their Opinions therein to the House.
The Eighth Article in the said Paper being read;
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to send into the Country for the Muster Rolls and Treasurers Accompts; and to state the Business touching Colonel Twisleton's Regiment, and of Major Henry Markham, while he was in that Regiment; and Report it to the House.
Knight's Troop.
The humble Petition of the Troop under the Command of Major Knight, in the Regiment of Colonel Tomlinson, was this Day read.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to consider of, and state, this Business; and report their Opinions to the House.
Removing Delinquents.
Colonel Purefoy reports Amendments to the Act injoining all Papists, Officers, and Soldiers of Fortune, and other Delinquents, from coming to the Cities of London and Westminster, and late Lines of Communication, and Twenty Miles thereof, and confining them: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed.
The Question being propounded, That the Time for the Continuance of this Act shall be, until the Twentieth Day of March 1650;
The Question being put, That that Question be now put;
It passed in the Affirmative.
And the main Question being put;
It was Resolved, That the Time for the Continuance of this Act shall be, until the Twentieth Day of March 1650.
The Question being put, That this Bill be ingrossed;
It passed with the Negative.
And so the Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed; and ordered to be forthwith printed and published.
Navy, &c.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair Tomorrow at Eleven of the Clock: And that the House do then enter into Debate of the Business of the Navy and Customs; and nothing to intervene.
Sheriff of Norfolk.
The Question being propounded, That Hugh Audley Esquire, High Sheriff of the County of Norfolk, be dispensed with for his Residence in the County, during the Time of his Sheriffalty;
It passed with the Negative.
