Prayers.

Earl of Pembroke.

WHEREAS the late Earl of Pembroke, being in his Life-time, Custos Rotulorum for the Counties of Derby and Wilts; which Places did become void upon the Death of the said Earl: It is now Ordered, by the Parliament, That it be specially recommended to the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England, to confer and settle the said Offices of Custos Rotulorum, for the said several Counties, upon the now Earl of Pembroke.

Council of State.

The House, according to former Order, took into Consideration the Business touching the Council of State.

Resolved, That the House will proceed to the Election of a Council of State, that shall serve for the next Year.

Resolved, That the Number of Persons to be of the Council of State, for the next Year, be One-and-forty.

The Question being propounded, That the Names be read;

The Question being put, That that Question be now put;

The House was divided.

The Noes went forth.

Lord Howard, Tellers for the Noes: 42.
Lord Grey, With the Noes,
Lord Lisle, Tellers for the Yeas: 43.
Lord Commiss. Lisle, With the Yeas,

So the Question passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put, That the Names be read;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

The Lord Lisle, With the Yeas,
Lord Howard, Tellers for the Yeas: 44.
Lord Grey. With the Yeas,

So the Question passed with the Affirmative.

Resolved, That this House do proceed upon the Debate of the Names of the Council of State, To-morrow Morning, the first Business.
