ORDERED, by the Parliament, That Mr. Blagrave do bring in the Act, for the Registering of all Matters of Record, on Saturday Morning next, the first Business, nothing to intervene.
Letter read.
A Letter from Richard Blundell, from Hertford-bridge, of the Twenty-sixth of January 1649, was this Day read.
Norwich, &c. Weavers.
Mr. Garland reports from the Committee, a Bill for erecting and establishing a Corporation in the City and County of Norwich, and County of Norfolk, for the better Regulation of the Worsted Weavers in the said City and Counties.
Which was this Day read the First time.
And the Question being put, That the said Bill be now read the Second time;
It passed with the Affirmative.
And the said Bill was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Mr. Serjeant Erle, Alderman Atkin, Colonel Marten, Mr. Long, Mr. Garland, Colonel Jones, Colonel Ven, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Gurdon, Colonel Fielder, Colonel Fleetwood, Alderman Pennyngton, Mr. Leman, Mr. Phil. Jones, Sir John Bourchier, Colonel Morley, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Bond, Mr. Gold, Colonel Bingham, Mr. Toll, Mr. Aldworth, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Pury, Mr. Hey, Colonel Rich, Mr. John Ash; or any Five of them: And the more particular Care hereof is committed to Serjeant Earle: And all that will come are to have Voices: And are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber; and so de die in diem: With Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Witnesses.
Admission of a Member.
Ordered, That Colonel Philip Jones be admitted to sit in this House, as Knight of the Shire for the County of Brecknock.
Westminster Civil Government.
The House being informed, that divers of the Inhabitants of the City of Westminster were at the Door;
They were called in: And, after a short Preamble, made by Mr. Samuel Smyth, That they were desired to present to this honourable House a Petition of the Inhabitants of the City of Westminster, that such a Government may be settled amongst them, as may conduce to the well-governing and regulating the Inhabitants in Westminster;
Which (after the Petitioners were withdrawn) was read; and was intituled, "The humble Petition of the Inhabitants of the City and Liberties of Westminster;"
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Corporations, to consider of this Petition; and to present their Opinions therein to this House: With Power to the said Committee, to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, and what else may conduce to the Business.
Ordered, That Mr. Clinkerd, formerly appointed Bailiff for the City of Westminster, be, and is hereby, authorized and required to execute the Place as Bailiff, until this House take further Order.
Ordered, That Mr. Thomas Latham be, and is hereby, authorized and required to continue Deputy Steward of Westminster; and to execute the said Office of Deputy Steward, until the Parliament take further Order.
Carmen.
Ordered, That the Business touching the Carmen, be reported on Tuesday Morning next.
Agent to Spaine.
Ordered, That the Business touching the Agent for Spaine be taken into Consideration on Saturday Morning next.
Crown Lands.
An additional Act, for removing Obstructions in the Sale of the Honours, Manors, and Lands, of the late King, Queen, and Prince, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on Thursday Morning, the first Business.
