Prayers.
Bedford Charter.
THE humble Petition of the well-affected Freemen of the Town of Bedford, whose Names are thereunto annexed, was this Day read.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the Petition of the Town of Northampton is referred; to consider of the said Petition; and to send for and peruse the Charter of the said Town; and to consider of the Conveniencies and Inconveniencies thereof, in reference to the Commonwealth, as it is now established: With Power to send for Parties; and to hear what shall be propounded to them, for Alteration of the Charter for the Benefit of the Petitioners, so as may best stand with the Government now established, and the Good of the Commonwealth.
Petition from Alshary.
The humble Supplication of the Borough of Alisbury in the County of Bucks, was this Day read.
Ordered, By the Parliament, That that Part of the said Petition, which concerns the Corporation, be referred to the same Committee to whom the Petition of the Town of Northampton is referred; to consider thereof; and to send for and peruse the Charter of the said Town; and to consider of the Conveniencies and Inconveniencies thereof, in Reference to the Commonwealth, as it is now established: With Power to send for Parties; and to hear what shall be propounded to them, for Alteration of the Charter for the Benefit of the Petitioners, so as may best stand with the Government now established, and the Good of the Commonwealth: And that Mr. Salwey do make the Report from the Committee to whom the former Petition of the said Town was referred, the First time, when the Reports from Goldsmiths Hall are made.
Inns of Court.
Ordered, That the Benchers of the several Inns of Court, and the Heads of the Inns of Chancery, be enjoined not to permit any publick Revelling or Gaming in any of the said Inns of Court or Chancery.
Col. Heane's Claims.
Mr. Bond reports from the Council of State, the humble Petition of Colonel James Heane, Governor of Weymouth: Which was this Day read.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider what is fit to be done with the several Prisoners mentioned in the said Petition; and what is fit to be paid to the Petitioner for his Charges therein: And that they give Order for Payment thereof accordingly.
Relief of Creditors.
The Lord Commissioner Whitelock reports an Act for discharging from Imprisonment poor Prisoners unable to satisfy their Creditors: Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Lord Commissioner Whitelock, Mr. Robinson, Sir Henry Vane Senior, Sir John Danvers, Mr. Weaver, Colonel Temple, Sir Thomas Maleverer, Mr. Bond, Alderman Hoyle, Sir Wm. Allenson, Sir Richard Lucy, Mr. Temple, Colonel Bossevill, Mr. Dove, Earl of Salisbury, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Leman, Mr. Attorney, Colonel Purefoy, Sir Henry Mildmay, Lord Commissioner Lisle, Colonel Jones, Major General Harrison, Colonel Popham, Mr. Moyle, Mr. Nevile; or any Five of them: And all that will come to have Voices: And this Committee is to meet To-morrow at Two of Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber, and so de die in diem: And that the said Committee do take care to bring in the Act touching Creditors: And that both the said Acts be reported together.

Northern Committee.
Ordered, That the Quorum of the Northern Committee be reduced to Five.
Southampton.
Ordered, That Sir Henry Mildmay do make his Report from the Council of State, touching the Town of Southampton, This-day-sevennight.

An Act for the Sheriffs to appoint Deputies, who are to receive and transmit the Acts, Orders, and Directions of the Parliament, and Council of State; and the respective Sheriffs to make Returns thereof as they shall be injoined by the Parliament or Council; was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Colonel Marten, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Garland, Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Lister, Colonel Ludlow, Mr. Bond, Mr. Scott, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Salwey, Mr. Hussey, Mr. Heveningham, Mr. Dove, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Jones, Mr. Ralegh, Sir. Thomas Wroth, Lord Lisle, Colonel Birch, Mr. Masham, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Hallowes, Mr. Nevill, Mr. Corbett, Colonel Rich, Mr. Fry, Mr. Whittacre, Sir Henry Mildmay, Mr. Scott; or any Five of them: And are to meet in the Exchequer Chamber at Two of Clock this Afternoon; and so de die in diem.
