Prayers.

Army.

RESOLVED, &c. That all the supernumerary Horse, lately raised in Lincolnsheir, be disbanded, except only the Troop under the Command of Colonel Rosseter: And that it be referred to the Committee of the County of Lincolne, to take care for the Disbanding of them accordingly.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Bishops Lands.

The House being informed, that Two of the Treasurers for Bishops Lands were at . . . Door;

They were called in: And Mr. Alderman Gibbs presented to the House several Obstructions in the Bringing in of the Monies upon the Sale of Bishops Lands; and then presented a Petition.

The which was read.

The Amendments, formerly returned by the Lords, to the Ordinance for enabling the Committee of Lords and Commons to remove Obstructions in the Sale of the Lands of the late Archbishops and Bishops, were read; and, upon the Question, assented unto: And the first was, That, in the First Page, the Sixth Line, after the Word "that," add these Names, viz. Algernoun Earl of Northumberland, Henry Earl of Kent, Philip Earl of Pembroke, and Montgomery, Charles Earl of Nottingham, William Earl of Salisbury, Basil Earl of Denbigh, Edward Earl of Manchester, Edmund Earl of Mulgrave, William Lord Gray of Warke, Edward Lord Mountague, Edward Lord Howard of Escrick.

The other was, That after the Word "them," in Page One-and-twentieth, Line *, add these Words, viz. "whereof one to be a Peer."

Resolved, &c. That a Committee of a proportionable Number of Members of this House be added in the said Ordinance, to join with the Committee of Lords;

Mr. Prynne, Sir Wil. Lewes, Mr. John Ashe, Sir Dudley North, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Drake, Colonel Purefoy, Colonel Copley, Mr. Annesley, Mr. Wheler, Mr. Gewen, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Edward Ashe, Mr. Scott, Mr. Blackiston, Colonel White, Sir Robert Harley, Mr. Francis Allen, Colonel Harvey, Colonel Venne, Sir Harbottle Grimston.

Sir Robert Harley is appointed to go to the Lords, to acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the Amendments formerly returned by their Lordships to the Ordinance for enabling a Committee of Lords and Commons to remove Obstructions in the Sale of Bishops Lands; and have appointed a Committee of a proportionable Number to join with the Committee of their Lordships in the said Ordinance.

Gibbs', &c. Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of Alderman Gibbs, and Mr. Francis Ashe, and the Matters informed by Alderman Gibbs, be referred to the Consideration of the Members of this House that are of this Committee; to consider of the said Petition, and Matters informed them; and state the Matter of Fact clearly to the House; and their Opinions thereupon.

Ordered, That this Ordinance be forthwith printed.

Nominating Sheriffs.

Ordered, That, on Thursday Morning next, the Business . . the Nomination of Sheriffs be taken into Consideration.

Treaty with the King.

Colonel Birch, Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Bond, Sir Wm. Armyn, Mr. Blackiston, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. Tate, Colonel White, Sir Hen. Vane;

This Committee is appointed to prepare a Proposition to be presented to the King, touching the Kingdoms of England and Scotland, upon the Debate thereupon now had in the House.

Message to Lords.

Sir Peter Wentworth is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire a free Conference, by Committees of both Houses, at such time as may stand with their Lordships Conveniency, upon the Matter of the last Conference, touching the Delinquents that are to be excepted from Pardon.

He likewise carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Vote for continuing the Treaty till Saturday next, at Night: The Vote resolving, That the King's Answer to the Business touching the Lord Ormond is not satisfactory: The Order for Two thousand Pounds to Colonel Rosseter: The Order for Two hundred Pounds, in Discharge of all . . . . . . due to Cornet Lewis: The Order for disbanding all the supernumerary Horse in Lincolnsheir, except Colonel Rosseter's Troop.

Parliament Guards.

Ordered, That the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, appointed for the Advance of Monies for the Horse Guards that attend the Houses, do, upon Warrant, from the Committee at Derby House, from time to time, pay the said Guards, according to the Establishment for them upon Musters.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Army.

Ordered, That, To-morrow Morning, the first Business, and nothing to intervene, Mr. Scawen do make the Reports concerning the Army.

Tobacco Licences.

The humble Petition of the Freemen of the Cities of London, Westminster, and Liberties thereof, with divers others, touching the Licences for Sale of Tobacco, was this Day read: And

It is Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider of and examine the Matter of Fact; and state it to the House; together with their Opinions: With Power to the Committee to bring in an Ordinance for discharging the Records; and to stay all Process and Levies of Monies, and the Payment of the Monies levied into the Exchequer, in the mean time.

Ld. Hereford.

Ordered, That the Business concerning the Lord Viscount Hereford be taken in Consideration on Friday Morning next.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Peter Wentwarth brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to a Free Conference, as is desired; and that it be presently, in the Painted Chamber; and to all the Particulars of the Message carried by him to the Lords.

Treaty with the King.

Mr. Reynolds reports from the Committee, a Proposition, to be presented to the King, touching the settling a Peace between the Two Nations: The which was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and resolved to be sent to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight, to be propounded to the King, for his Consent; and was in hæc verba: viz.

That such Agreements as shall be made, by both Houses, with the Kingdom of Scottland, for the Security of all those of that Kingdom, who have assisted or adhered to the Parliament of England, for the Settling and Preserving of an happy and * * Peace between the Two Nations, and for the mutual Defence of each other, be confirmed by Act of Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That this Proposition be sent to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight, to . . propounded to the King, for his Consent.

Mr. Reynolds carried it to the Lords.

Mr. Mountague.

A Message from the Lords by Dr. Bennett and Mr. Hackwill;

The Lords have been moved in the Behalf of Mr. Walter Mountague: In regard of his long Sickness, which hath continued near Three Months, and still remains upon him, the Lords in Parliament have thought fit to continue his Liberty upon the said Bail as formerly.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Lords that, in regard of the long Sickness of Mr. Walter Mountague, which hath continued near Three Months, and still remains upon him, That he have his Liberty continued upon the same Bail as formerly; with this Addition, viz. "for Three Months."

Sir Anthony Irby is appointed to acquaint the Lords, That this House doth agree to the Continuance of Mr. Walter Mountague's Bail; with this Addition, "for Three Months."

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Conference.

Mr. Annesley, Mr. Nath. Fiennes, Sir Walt. Erle, Sir Harbottle Grimston, Mr. Rigby, are appointed Reporters and Managers of this free Conference.

Wine Licences.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider of the Business touching Wine Licences, touching the Fines in . . . Star Chamber, and touching the Fines in the High Commission Court; and to state the Matter of Fact touching those Matters, together with their Opinions thereupon to the House, as in that other Case, touching Tobacco.

Exceptions from Pardon.

Mr. Rigby reports the Conference:

That the Lords do agree to the Earl of Newcastle to be excepted from Pardon: And do also agree, That Sir John Byron be excepted from Pardon, in the Place and stead of Sir John Wintour.

Answer from Lords.

Mr. Reynolds brings Answer, That, to the Message by him carried to the Lords, they will send Answer . . Messengers of their own.

Treaty with the King.

Ordered, That all the Votes, passed both Houses, touching Delinquents, and other Matters of the Treaty, be forthwith sent to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight.

Ditto.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Bennett, and Mr. Hackwill;

The Lords have conceived a Letter to be sent to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight: Which they desire may be signed by the Speakers of both Houses, and sent to the Commissioners, with the Votes: Wherein they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Letter was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; with Order for this Addition; To give Power to the Commissioners, to present the Votes inclosed to the King; and desire his full Consent to them respectively.
