Die Veneris, 18 Augusti, 1648.

Prayers.

Warwick Petition.

The House being informed, That divers Gentlemen of the County of Warwick were at the Door, desiring to prefer a Petition to the House;

They were called in; and did prefer a Petition, intituled, "The humble Petition of many Gentlemen, Ministers, and others, well-affected, in the County of Warwick, and the City and County of Coventry."

The which (the Petitioners being withdrawn) was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Petitioners shall have hearty Thanks for their constant good Affections to the Service of the Kingdom and Parliament.

The Petitioners were again called in: And Mr. Speaker, by Command of the House, did acquaint them, That the House took notice of their early Engagement in this great Cause of Religion and Liberty, their constant Adhering unto it: And was commanded to give them the hearty Thanks of this House, for their constant good Affections to the Service of the Kingdom and Parliament.

Navy.

Ordered, That the Letters from the Lord Admiral, and others, to the Committee of the Navy, and the Reports concerning those Affairs, be read and considered on Tuesday Morning next, peremptory, the first Business.

Col. Lilbourne.

Ordered, That the Report of the Ordinance, for Lieutenant Colonel Lilbourne's Reparations, be made To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Litchfield Church.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for plundered Ministers, to consider of the Disposition that is made of the Revenue, of the Church of Litchfield; and to settle them in such manner, as may be most fit and equal.

Treaty with the King.

Mr. Bulkley went to the Lords, with the Message appointed Yesterday; to acquaint them, That this House doth agree with their Lordships in that Vote for referring the Time, and all other Circumstances, concerning the manner of the Treaty, to the Committee for Peace, and to be reported to the Houses; and to desire the Lords to appoint the Time for that Committee to meet.

Inviting the Scotts to treat.

According to the Order Yesterday made, the House took into Consideration the Votes delivered by the Lords at the last Conference, touching the inviting the Scotts to treat.

Committee for Peace.

Mr. Bulkley brings Answer, That the Lords do desire, That the Committee for Peace may meet this Afternoon, at Three of Clock in the Painted Chamber.

Inviting the Scotts to treat.

The Question was propounded, For concurring with the Lords in this Vote; viz. "That the Scotts shall be invited to send some Persons, authorized by them, to treat upon such Propositions as were tendered to his Majesty by both Kingdoms at Hampton Court, at such time as shall be agreed upon by his Majesty, and the Two Houses of Parliament:"

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the Question being propounded, To agree with the Lords in the said Vote;

It passed with the Negative.

Votes from Lords.

Ordered, That the House do proceed upon the Debate of the rest of the Votes, sent from the Lords, the first Business, To-morrow Morning; nothing to intervene.

Northern Counties.

Ordered, That the Committee, formerly appointed to go to the City this Afternoon, touching raising Provisions for the Northern Counties, do go to the Common Council, about the said Business, on Monday next in the Afternoon.
