PRAYERS.
Lancashire Forces.
UPON Mr. Ashhurst's Report from the Committee to whom the Petition concerning the Forces of Lancashire was referred: And
It is thereupon Ordered, That no Colonel, or other Field Officer, in any Regiment within the County of Lancaster, do accompt as Colonel, or Field Officer, until and from that Time that there was in the Regiment Five hundred Foot, or Two hundred Horse; nor any Captain, or other Commissioned Officer, until and from that Time there was in the Company, or Troop, Sixty Foot, or Thirty Horse; nor for longer Time than the said Regiment, Troop, or Company were standing; and they did actually attend upon the Duty of their Places in their said Regiments or Companies: And that they do make all such Defalcations for Free Quarter, or any other Advantages whatsoever received by them, as is contained within any Instructions given to the Committee of Accompts, and particularly within the Instructions and Ordinance for taking the Accompts of the Soldiers of the Kingdom, of 28 Maii 1647. And, to the end that these Things may be duly observed, the Sub-Committee of Accounts, within the said County of Lancaster, are hereby required, not only to take all Accompts of the Soldiers within the said County hereafter, according to the aforesaid Rules and Directions; but if any be already taken by them, wherein the said Directions and Limitations are not observed, they shall call before them again all Parties concerned, to the end that all such Accompts may be altered and stated according to the Rules and Directions hereby given: And the said Sub-Committee of Accompts are, with all convenient Speed, to return Duplicates of all Accompts of the said Commanders, Officers, and Soldiers, within the said County of Lancaster, unto the Committee of Accompts at London.
He further reported a Proposition concerning the Payment of Fifteen thousand Pounds to the Soldiery of Lancashire, out of such Monies as shall arise from such Delinquents as have compounded at Under Values: The which was read. And
It is Ordered, That an Ordinance be brought in upon this Proposition: And Mr. Ashhurst is appointed to prepare and bring in this Ordinance accordingly.
The King's Answer.
The Question being put, That the House be forthwith resolved into a Grand Committee, to take into Consideration the whole Matter concerning the King, according to the former Order;

Upon Mr. Wheeler's Report from the Grand Committee;
It is Resolved, &c. That the Matter of the Proposition, concerning the Militia of the Kingdoms of England and Ireland, shall be prepared to be sent unto the King, for his Consent.
Resolved, &c. That, To-morrow Morning, the first Business, the House do resume the Consideration of the whole Matter concerning the King, according to the former Order.
