Prayers.

Grant to Ld. Grey.

ORDERED, &c. That Five thousand Pounds be paid to Wm. Lord Grey, Baron of Warke, towards Satisfaction and Reparation for his Damages and Losses sustained by reason of these Troubles, and for his adhering to the Parliament, out of the first Monies that shall arise from the Fine set upon Robert Sutton Esquire, for his Delinquency against the Parliament; and that, in the mean time, until the said Five thousand Pounds be raised by the Fine of the said Mr. Sutton, as aforesaid, that the said Lord Grey shall receive and enjoy the Benefit and Profits of the Sequestration of the said Mr. Sutton's Estate, upon Account, towards Satisfaction and Payment of the said Five thousand Pounds: And the Committees and Sequestrators, in whose Hands the Sequestration of the said Estate now is, are hereby authorized and required to pay the Profits arising from the said Sequestration, unto the said Lord Grey, or his Assignee, in manner and to the Purposes as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the Lords Concurrence be desired herein: And Sir Humphry Tufton is appointed to carry it to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Fast Day Collection.

Ordered, &c. That, on Wednesday next, being the Monthly Fast Day, there be a Collection within the several Churches and Chapels within the Cities of London and Westminster, and the Liberties thereof, and within the other Parishes within the Lines of Communication, and Weekly Bills of Mortality: And that the one Moiety of all such Monies, as shall be then collected in the said several Parishes and Places, shall be employed for the Relief of the Poor there, according to the Order and Direction of the Overseers of the Poor of the said Parishes.

And it is further Ordered, That the other Moiety of the said Monies so to be collected, be, on Thursday next, paid unto Sir John Woollaston Knight, Alderman of the City of London; to be by him issued and paid out to the Mayor of the Town of Stafford for the Time being, or such as he shall appoint to receive the same; to be distributed for the Relief of the poor, visited, and sick Persons, of the said Town, which hath been, for many Weeks together, sorely visited with the Plague, according to the Orders and Directions of the Mayor and Aldermen there: And the Lord Mayor of the City of London is desired to take care, that timely Notice hereof may be given to the respective Ministers, within the Limits aforesaid.

Grant to Erle.

Ordered, &c. That the Sum of Seven hundred and Forty Pounds, by Order of the Tenth of this Instant December, appointed to be paid to Sir Walter Erle, by the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, out of the Fines of Delinquents, be now paid unto him out of the first Monies that shall arise, or be paid in to the said Committee, for the Fines or Compositions of Sir Francis Fulford Knight, and Humphry Weld Esquire, or either of them: And that the Acquittance of the said Sir Walter Erle shall be a good Discharge to the said Committee, and the Treasurers there, for the Payment of the said Seven hundred and Forty Pounds accordingly.

Capt. Fisher, &c.

A Letter from the Committee at Derby, of 17 Octobris 1646, directed to the Committee of Lords and Commons, of the Committee for Irish Assairs, concerning one Captain Fisher, and the Soldiers there, under his Command, was this Day read: And

It is thereupon Resolved, &c. That the Committee for the Sequestrations, in the County of Derby, do forthwith pay unto Captain Fisher One Month's Pay for Himself, Officers, and such Soldiers under his Command, as shall undertake the Service of Ireland, and go in the said Service, out of such Monies as do or shall arise by Sequestrations in the said County.

King's Person.

According to an Order Yesterday made, the House proceeded in the Consideration of the Vote sent from the Lords on Tuesday last, concerning the King's Person.

And the Clause, in these Words, was read; viz. "And then the Two Kingdoms are mutually to consider and determine, What is necessary for the common Peace."

The Question was propounded, Whether this House shall agree with the Lords in this Clause:

And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And then the Question being put, Whether the House shall agree to the Clause aforesaid;

It passed with the Negative.

Grant to Ld. Grey.

Sir Humphry Tufton brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Order carried to them by him, concerning the Five thousand Pounds to be paid unto the Lord Grey of Warke, out of Mr. Sutton's Fine.

Candles.

The Question being put, Whether Candles shall be brought in;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So that the Question passed with the Affirmative.

King's Person, &c.

This Question was propounded; viz. That it be referred to a Committee, to consider of a Clause to be added to the Vote passed, concerning the King's Person, touching both Kingdoms employing their joint Endeavours with the King, after he shall be come to Holmeby, "and that the Scotts Forces shall be gone out of this Kingdom," to procure his Assent to the Propositions agreed by both Kingdoms; and, in case of Refusal, to express their Resolutions to maintain the Union between the Kingdoms.

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "and that the Scotts Forces shall be gone out of this Kingdom," be added to the former Question.

The Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative. And

Pierepont, Sir Wm. Waller, Mr. Marten, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Westrowe, Mr. Blackiston;

This Committee or any Five of them, are to consider of a Clause to be added to the Vote passed, concerning the King's Person, touching both Kingdoms employing their joint Endeavours with the King, after he shall be come to Holmeby, and that the Scotts Forces shall be gone out of this Kingdom, to procure his Assent to the Propositions agreed by both Kingdoms; and in case of Refusal, to express their Resolutions to maintain the Union between the Kingdoms: And are to meet on Monday Morning, at Eight of the Clock, in the Inner Court of Wards: And are to make Report on Monday Morning next: And the more particular Care of this Business is referred to Sir Wm. Lewes and Mr. Solicitor.
