Tuesday, October the 4th, 1659.

Prayers.

Issue of Monies.

COLONEL Thompson reports from the Council of State, that the Power of the Council of State for directing and ordering the Issuing and Payment of Monies out of any the Treasuries of this Commonwealth, for carrying on the Publick Affairs, be continued for from the Twenty-fifth of September last.

Ordered, That the same Power that was formerly given to the Council of State for Issuing and Payment of Monies out of any the Treasuries of the Commonwealth, for carrying on the Publick Affairs, be continued for one Month longer, from the Twenty-fifth of September last.

Colonel Thompson also reports from the Council of State, touching the Payment off of several Ships from the Sound and Streights.

Ordered, That one hundred thousand Pounds of the last Six Months Assessment of Thirty-five thousand Pounds per mensem be and is hereby assigned for the Use of the Navy.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take care to see the said One hundred thousand Pounds speedily brought in: And that this Order be put in Execution.

Army Arrears.

Resolved, That the Arrears due to the Officers and Soldiers of the Army, and also of the Militia Troops, shall be paid out of the Moiety of such Monies as shall be raised by the Sale, or other Disposition, of the Estates of Delinquents, sequestered, and to be sequestered, upon the late Insurrection; and out of one Moiety of the Money to be raised by the Sale of Forests and Chaces, excepting NewForest, and the Forest of Deane; and excepting such Timber-Trees as shall be thought fit to be reserved, and made use of, for the Service of the Commonwealth: And that the other Moiety of the Money to be raised by the said Delinquents Estates, shall go to the Use of the Navy: And that the other Moiety of the Forests aforesaid, except as aforesaid, shall go to the Payment and Satisfaction of the Debt due upon the Publick Faith: And that the best Ways and Means be speedily taken for rendering this Vote effectual.

Late King's Property.

Ordered, That the Contractors and Trustees for Sale of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince, do forthwith proceed to the Sale of Hampton-Court and Parks, Somersett-House, and all other Manors, Parks, Houses, and Lands, contained in the several Acts for the Sale thereof: And that the Monies, raised thereby, do go to the Use of the Navy: And that the Order for Stop of the Sale of Hampton-Court, or of any other the said Houses or Lands, be, and is hereby, taken off, and discharged.

Resolved, That the Chapel at Somersett-House, now used by the French Church, be and is hereby exempted from Sale: And that the Trustees and Contractors for Sale of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince, do forbear to make Sale of the said Chapel, accordingly.

Invalid Soldiers, &c.

Ordered, That the Certificate of the Trustees and Contractors at Worcester-House, touching maimed Soldiers at Ely-House and the Savoy; and the Business touching Chirke-Castle, and the rest of the new Delinquents; be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.

Sequestering Estates.

An additional Act for Sequestrations was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Trenchard, Lord Whitlock, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Lenthall, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Mr. Say, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Millington, Mr. Holland, Colonel White, Mr. West, Colonel Lister, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Garland, Dr. Palmer. Mr. Skynner, Colonel Bennett, Major Salwey, Mr. Blagrave, Mr. Ralegh, Colonel Downes, Colonel Pyne, Mr. Corbet, Mr. Smith, Colonel Rich, Mr. Oldsworth; or any Five of them: And are to meet, in the Speaker's Chamber, this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock.
