Leave of Absence.

ORDERED, That Colonel Birch, a Member of this House, have Leave to go into the Country.

Crompton pardoned.

The humble Petition of Roger Layton, of Richmond in the County of Surrey, was this Day read.

Resolved, That Luke Crompton, who was condemned at the Assizes at Kingston in the County of Surrey, the Oneand-twentieth of July 1659, for Burglary, shall be, and is hereby pardoned; and that Mr. Speaker do sign a Docket, for passing the said Pardon under the Great Seal: And that the Commissioners for the Great Seal do pass the said Pardon under the Great Seal, accordingly.

Wray pardoned.

The humble Petition of the Aldermen and Comburgesses of the Borough of Stamford in the County of Lyncolne was this Day read.

Resolved, That Anne Wray, alias Johnson, convicted at the Sessions, and Gaol-Delivery, held for the Borough of Stamford in the County of Lyncolne, for stealing Monies in a Bag, who had Judgment of Death, shall be, and is hereby pardoned; and that Mr. Speaker do sign a Docket, for passing the said Pardon under the Great Seal: And that the Commissioners for the Great Seal do pass the said Pardon under the Great Seal of England, accordingly.

Sir James Harrington reports, the humble Petition of the sole Son and Surety, Executor, and general Successor of the late Sir Wm. Dick, in Scotland, Knight, with their numerous, distressed, and dispersed poor Families for the Commonwealth, was this Day read.

The humble Petition of Christian English, the distressed Widow of Robert English of London, Merchant, and a free Denizen of England, late deceased, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Pension of Five Pounds a Week, formerly granted to Sir Andrew Dick, be continued unto him, and paid to him, or his Assigns, during the Pleasure of the Parliament, out of the Publick Exchequer: And that the Arrears, due from the Seventh Day of May last, be forthwith paid.

Ordered, That the Petitions of the sole Son and Executor of Sir Wm. Dick Knight, deceased; and of Christian English, the distressed Widow of Robert English, of London, Merchant, deceased; be referred to a Committee; to examine the Matter of Fact; and state it; and report it to this House forthwith; viz. Alderman Pennington, Major Salwey, Sir Henry Mildmay, Sir Jam. Harrington, Colonel Lister, Lord Whitlock, Lord Lisle, Mr. Robert Goodwin, Mr. Millington, Mr. Wallop, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Smith, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. West, Mr. Meyne, Colonel Hutchinson, Mr. Leman, Colonel Bingham, Mr. Robert Cecil, Sir Tho. Widdrington, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Gurdon, Sir Wm. Brereton, Lord ChiefJustice St. John; or any Five: And are to meet in the Duchy Court, To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock.

Ordered, That a Protection be, and is hereby, granted unto Sir Andrew Dick, for the Space of Six Months, to follow his Business; and that Mr. Speaker do sign a Protection accordingly.

Ordered, That the Pension of Three Pounds a Week, granted unto Christian English, be, and is hereby, continued and paid unto the said Christian English, or her Assigns, during the Pleasure of the Parliament out of the Publick Exchequer; and that the Arrears thereof, due since the Seventh of May 1659, be forthwith paid unto her.

Militia Commissions.

Ordered, That the Commissions granted to Commission-Officers of the Militia, for the several Counties of this Commonwealth, who cannot attend to receive them in usual Form, be, after they are approved of by this House, and Mr. Speaker hath signed the same, delivered unto the said Commission-Officers, by the Commissioners for the Militia in the respective Counties, upon their taking the Engagement: Which the Commissioners are to see done; and to certify the same to the Parliament, or Council of State.

Colonel Downes reports, from the Committee of Inspections, The State of the Matter of Fact, touching the Monies due from Alderman Pack, and the rest of the Commissioners of the Customs; and how the same may be forthwith paid in.

Ordered, That it be referred back to the said Committee, briefly to state the Matter of Fact; and report the same, with their Opinion thereof, to this House, To-morrow Morning.

Delinquents Estates.

Mr. West reports Amendments to the Bill for bringing in Second Moieties: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Mr. Nevill offered a Proviso to be Part of this Bill, in these Words; viz.

"Provided always, and be it Enacted, That this Act, or any thing therein contained, shall not extend to the Compelling of any Purchasers of any Part of the Lord Craven's Estate whatsoever, to pay in any Part of their Purchase Money, yet unpaid; but the same be, and are hereby, respited in the Hands of the respective Purchasers, until the Parliament shall declare the further Pleasure concerning the same, upon hearing the Lord Craven's Case:"

Which was read.

The humble Petition of Wm. Lord Craven was this Day read.

The Question being put, That the said Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That this Bill be ingrossed.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider, What Part of the Estate late the Lord Craven's is not yet actually sold; that out of the same, some Provision may be made, for a comfortable Subsistence for him; and report their Opinion therein to the House: Viz. unto Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Robert Goodwin, Major Salwey, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Nevill, Colonel Rich, Sir Wm. Strickland, Colonel Harvey, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Garland, Colonel White, Mr. Ralegh, Sir Wm. Brereton, Mr. Darley, Colonel Wauton, Mr. Jo.
