Friday, July the 15th, 1659.

Army Commissions.

THE House being informed, That some Officers of the Army were at the Door:

They were called in: And, coming to the Clerk's Table, in usual Manner, Mr. Speaker acquainted them with the great Trust the Parliament reposed in them; and that the Parliament did expect Faithfulness from them to the Parliament and Commonwealth of England: And thereupon delivered to them their Commissions; viz.

To Colonel John Boteler, his Commission to be Quarter-master General of all the Forces in England and Scotland:

To William Brewin, Provost-Marshal of Sir Arthur Hesilrig's Regiment, his Commission.

Convicts reprieved.

The several Certificates of Baron Parker, on the behalf of Ralph Boyer, Convict at Summer-Assizes 1658, for stealing Two Mares:

And the Certificate of Serjeant Unton Crooke, of Thomas Doores, Convict at Summer-Assizes 1657, for stabbing Richard Jackson:

And the Certificate of Baron Parker, on the Behalf of John Chapman, Convict at Summer-Assizes 1658, for stealing of an Horse:

And another Certificate on the Behalf of Thomas Pratt, Convict at the aforesaid Assizes, for a Robbery:

All which have been reprieved, after Judgment.

Ordered, That these Certificates, and other Certificates of like Nature, be taken into Consideration on this Day Fortnight.

Executing Cnvicts, reprieved for being pregnant.

Ordered, That an Act be brought in, for causing Excution to be done upon Persons who have murdered their Children; and, having been condemned, have been reprieved for their being with Child; after they are delivered: And that Colonel White do bring in a Bill for that Purpose.

Reprieving Barr.

Ordered, That a Letter be written to General Monck, and the Justices of Peace in Scotland, to send Adam Barr, condemned for Coining, in safe Custody, to the Gaol in Lancaster; and that the Justices of Peace there do examine, What Discoveries the said Adam Barr hath made on the Behalf of the Commonwealth; and certify the Discoveries made by him to this House; and that, in the mean time, he be kept safe in Prison there.

Militia Commissioners.

The House, according to former Order, resumed the Debate upon the Commissioners Names for the Militia in the County of Bucks.

The Question being put, that John Plummer do stand as a Commissioner for the Militia in this County;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That Christofer Hen be one of the Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Bucks.

And the said List of Names, so amended, being put to the Question, was agreed unto.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Cambridge was read.

Resolved, That Captain James Whitelock be one of the Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Cambridge.

And the said List, with the said Addition, being put to the Question, was agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia in the Isle of Ely were read.

Resolved, That Mr. Serjeant Barnard be one of the Commissioners for the Militia in the Isle of Ely.

And the said List, with that Amendment, being put to the Question, was agreed unto.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Chester was read.

The Question being propounded, that Edward Lee be a Commissioner for the Militia in this List;

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That William Crompton, Richard Wright, and Richard Minshall, be added Commissioners in this List.

And the said List, so amended, was, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia in the County of Cornewall was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia in the County of Derby was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia in . . . County of Dorset was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Town and County of Poole was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia in the County of Devon, and for the County and City of Exon, were read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia of Durham, was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Essex, was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the City of Gloucester, and for the County of the said City, were read; and, after Mr. Stephens Alderman, Lawrence Singleton Alderman, and John Singleton Sheriff, were added, was, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia for the County of Gloucester was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Resolved, That Mr. Ralegh be added to the List for the County of the City of Gloucester.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia for the County of Hertford were read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the Militia of the County of Hereford was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Huntingdon was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of Commissioners Names for the City, and County of the City, of Canterbury, was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of the Commissioners Names for the County of Kent was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

A List of the Commissioners Names for the Militia in the County of Lancaster was read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Gentlemen, Members of this House, who serve for the County of Leicester, to bring in the Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Leicester.

Treaties with Holland.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do sign these Docquets; viz. the one containing a Ratification of Nine Articles concluded upon at a Treaty held at the Hague the Oneand-twentieth of May last, between James Earl of Messley, Ambassador for the King of France, &c. dated 13th July 1659; the other for Ratification of Nine Articles, concluded upon a Treaty held at the Hague the One-andtwentieth of May last, dated 13 July 1659: And that the same, so signed, shall be sufficient Warrant to the Commissioners of the Great Seal, to pass the same under the Great Seal, accordingly.

Militia Commissioners.

A List of the Names of Commissioners for the Militia for the County of Leicester was read.

And the Question being put, To agree to the said List;

It passed with the Negative.

A List of Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Lyncolne, and County of the City of the same, were read; and agreed upon.

A List of Names of Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Middlesex were read; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.
