Relief of Edwards, &c.
AN additional Bill for the ascertaining and effectual Setting-out of Lands and Houses in Ireland, in Consideration of Losses sustained by Anthony Edwards, and others the well-affected Inhabitants of the City of Gloucester, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on Thursday Morning next.
Jones' Petition.
The humble Petition of John Jones Esquire, a Member of this present Parliament, was this Day read.
Ordered, That this Petition be referred to a Committee: Viz. Mr. Holland, General Disbrow, Mr. Bond, Major Aston, Colonel Cooper, Mr. Mason, Master of the Rolls, Mr. Atkins, Colonel Beamont, Captain Baines, Major General Berry, Mr. Bampfield, Colonel Hawksworth, Colonel Thistlethwait, Colonel Zanchy, Colonel Puresoy, Mr. Lloyd, Colonel White, Major Beak, Sir Rich. Onsloe, Mr. Robinson, Sir Christofer Pack, Mr. Attorney Duchy, Sir Wm. Strickland, Colonel Shapcott, Colonel Fitz-James, Mr. Godfrey, Mr. Rolls, Captain Lilborne, Mr. Grove, Mr. Margetts, Mr. Fleetwood, Mr. Tho. Gorges, Sir Tho. Wroth, Mr. Vincent, Captain Blackwell, Sir John Reynolds: And they are to consider of this Petition, and of the Arrears of the Petitioner, and to state the same to the House, and to present their Opinion to the House: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

A Bill for the continuing and establishing the Subsidy of Tonnage and Poundage, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on this Day Sevennight.
Civil Law.
Ordered, That the Report touching the Doctors of the Civil Law, be made To-morrow Sevennight.
Excise.
Ordered, That the Grand Committee do sit Tomorrow, upon the Bill of Excise.
Raising Money.
The House was resolved into a Grand Committee, according to former Order, for the raising of Four hundred thousand . . . . . .
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Downing was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Downing reports, from the said Grand Committee, A Bill for an Assessment upon England, at the Rate of Sixty thousand Pounds by the Month for Three Months, from the 25th of March 1657 to the 24th of June then next ensuing.
And also reports, That the said Grand Committee desire the Leave of this House to sit again on Thursday next.
Ordered, That the Bill for the Assessment for England be read on Thursday Morning next.
Ordered, That the Grand Committee do sit on Thursday Morning next, for the Raising of the Four hundred thousand Pounds.
