York Petition.
THE humble Petition of the Mayor and Commonalty of the City of York, was this Day read.
York Courts of Law.
Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the Bill for the Courts at York was referred, to consider thereof; and, if they see Cause, to offer a Bill to the House, for the Purpose desired in the Petition.
Preston Rectory.
Ordered, That the Bill for Disappropriating the Rectory of Preston, and Uniting that Rectory, and of the Vicarage of the Church of Preston, be read the Second time on Saturday Morning next.
Proceedings concerning Cole.
The House being informed, That there is some Obstruction in putting in Execution the Votes and Resolutions of this House upon the Petition and Appeal of George Rodney; Upon Debate, It was
Resolved, That the Extent upon the Statute entered into by George Rodney, and all Proceedings thereupon, be vacated and cancelled: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal be authorized and required forthwith to see the same done accordingly.
Resolved, That the Decree in Chancery between Cole and Rodney, and all Proceedings thereupon, be vacated and cancelled: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal be authorized and required forthwith to see the same done accordingly.
Resolved, That the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal be authorized and required to issue forth a Writ forthwith to the Sheriff of the County of Southampton, to restore the Possession of the House, Lands, Leases, and Goods, remaining in Specie, unto Mr. George Rodney, or his Assigns.
Resolved, That the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal be authorized and required forthwith to issue out a Commission, to inquire of the Value of the Goods sold, and also of Damages, according to the former Order; and cause the same to be satisfied unto the said George Rodney, by the said John Cole: And that the said Lords Commissioners do issue forth any other Process of that Court in Prosecution hereof, or of the former Writ.
Reflections by a Member.
The House, according to former Order, resumed the Debate adjourned Yesterday.
During this Debate, some Exceptions were taken at some Words spoken by Mr. James Ashe, as charging several Members of this House: And it was desired, That he might explain himself; and declare, Who the Persons were, and What the Particulars that were charged on them: But it was put off until the End of the main Debate, that it might not interrupt the main Business.
Resolved, That this Debate be adjourned until Tomorrow Morning; and that all the Members do attend, according to their Duty.
Corpus Christi Col. Oxon.
Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Petition of Corpus Christi College is referred, be revived; and do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Queen's Court.
