Welden's Claims.

THE humble Petition of Ralph Welden Esquire, formerly a Colonel in the Parliament's Service, was now offered.

Resolved, That this Petition be now read.

The said Petition was read, accordingly.

Resolved, That the Receipt of the Grand Excise do, and shall still, stand charged with the Ordinance of the Seventh of June 1648, as to the Payment of the Sum of Four thousand Pounds, Part of the Six thousand Pounds in the said Ordinance mentioned, in Course, unto Colonel Ralph Weldon, and his Assigns; and also for Payment of the Interest charged upon that Receipt by the said Ordinance: And that this Order, together with the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Colonel Ralph Weldon, or his Assigns, shall be a sufficient Discharge, unto the Commissioners for the Excise, for Payment thereof; to be allowed upon their Account, accordingly.

Publick Debts.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider what the Monies and Debts due and charged upon the Excise, and also the Debts and Monies for the Navy, do amount unto; and likewise what Monies will be necessary, for paying of the supernumerary Forces, over and above the Thirty thousand . . ., until they be disbanded, and for their disbanding; and how Monies may be provided for Satisfaction and Payment thereof; and report the same to the House, with their Opinion therein: Viz. To Colonel Rous, Colonel John Birch, Alderman Avery, Colonel Mathews, Alderman Gibbs, Colonel Carter Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Guise, Mr. Turnor, Lieutenant Colonel Baines, Captain Hatsell, Sir Richard Onslow, Mr. Beale, Mr. Read, Colonel Fines, Colonel Jones, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Rich. Jones, Mr. Hooper, Colonel Thistlethwaite, Mr. Lance, Colonel Purefoy, Captain Falconberg, Mr. Scudamore, Mr. Bond, Mr. Bulkley, Lord Richard Cromwell, Lord Henry Cromwell, Captain Stone, Colonel Morley, Colonel Clerke, Mr. Read, Mr. Warcup, Mr. Boys, Mr. Brandling, Colonel Bridges, Colonel Ayres, Lieutenant Colonel Worsley, Mr. Collins, Mr. Minors, Alderman Foot, Mr. Flackett, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Nath. Bacon, Mr. Hoskins, Colonel Thelwall, Mr. James, Sir Wm. Doyley, Mr. Bainton, Mr. Bedford: And this Committee are to meet at Two of Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: With Power to receive the Petitions of the Creditors, who have Debts charged on the Excise.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of, and present to the House, the best Way for Satisfaction of Debts due upon the Public Faith.

Gresham v. Gresham.

WHEREAS it was resolved by the Parliament, the 19th of December last, That the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal do re-hear the Cause between Thomas Gresham Plaintiff; and Marmaduke Gresham Gentleman, and John Holmden, Defendants; without Bill of Review; and thereupon to proceed, as appeareth by the said Order; since which Time the said Thomas Gresham is dead; It is Ordered, by the Parliament, That the said Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, notwithstanding the Death of the said Thomas Gresham; be authorized and required to call before them the Heir, Wife, Executors, or Administrators, of the said Thomas Gresham; and to re-hear the said Cause, without a Bill of Review; calling such to their Assistance and Proceeding therein, according to the said former Resolution of this House: And that the Heir, Wife, Executors, or Administrators, be in the same Condition that the said Thomas Gresham was in; And that the said Lords Commissioners do appoint a Guardian for the Heir of the said Thomas Gresham, being under Age.

Jephson's Claims.

The humble Petition of Wm. Jephson Esquire, a Member of Parliament, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Sum of Nine hundred Threescore Thirteen Pounds Seven Shillings and Ten-pence, with Interest for Forbearance thereof, remaining due to Wm. Jephson Esquire, by several Orders of Parliament; the one bearing Date the Sixteenth Day of May 1646, and the other the Day of; for a Fortnight's Pay for his Regiment of Horse, then immediately to be transported for Ireland, and thereby ordered to be paid to him out of Haberdashers-Hall; be forthwith paid unto the said William Jephson, or his Assigns, out of the Receipt of the Exchequer, out of such Monies as are, or shall be, paid into the Treasury of the Exchequer from Haberdashers-Hall: And the Acquittance or Acquittances of the said Wm. Jephson, or his Assigns, testifying the Receipt thereof, shall be a sufficient Discharge to the Commissioners for the Treasury, Receivers, and such other Person or Persons as shall pay the same.

Dick's Debt.

THE humble Petition of Sir Wm. Dick, a Prisoner in the Upper-Bench Prison, without Liberty of Subsistance, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Sum of Two thousand Pounds be forthwith paid unto Sir Wm. Dick, and his Assigns, out of the Receipts of the Exchequer, in Part of the Debt due to him: And this Order, with the Acquittance or Acquittances of the said Sir Wm. Dick, or his Assigns, shall be, unto the Commissioners of the Treasury, a sufficient Discharge for the same.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee, that is to consider of the Debts charged upon the Excise, &c. to examine the Truth of this Debt; and, if they shall find the same to be just, to ascertain what is due; and make Report therein to the House, together with a fit Way how the same may be satisfied.
