Mr. Foxwist reports An Act for the better Regulating and Limiting the Jurisdiction of the High Court of Chancery: Which was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Second time on this Day Sevennight.

Salters-hall Judges.

Ordered, That the Bill for Salters-hall be reported on this Day Sevennight.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Patsall, a Member of Parliament, have Leave to go into the Country.

Sheriffs, &c.

Resolved, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider how the Office of the Sheriffs and Under-Sheriffs may be made less burthensome to themselves, or to the Commonwealth: Viz. Mr. Turnor reports from the Grand Committee for the Assessments, Amendments to the Bill for Assessment for Three Months, at the Rate of Sixty thousand Pounds by the Month: Which were read the First and Second time.

Assessments.

ORDERED, That, instead of these Words, "the County of Stafford, with the City of Lichfield, Eight hundred Pounds," that it be inserted in the Bill as followeth; viz. "the County of Stafford monthly, Seven hundred and Eighty-eight Pounds; for the City and County of the City of Litchfield, monthly, Twelve Pounds."

Ordered, That, instead of the Words "the County of Worcester, with the City and County of the City of Worcester, One thousand Sixty-six Pounds Thirteen Shillings and Four-pence," these Words be inserted in the Bill; viz. "for the County of Worcester, One thousand and Thirteen Pounds Six Shillings and Eight-pence; for the City and County of the City of Worcester, Fifty-three Pounds Six Shillings and Eight-pence."

The said Amendments to the said Bill being put to the Question, were assented unto.

Ordered, That the said Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.

Ordered, That the Business reported from the Committee of the whole House, touching the Merchants of the Intercourse, be referred to a Committee: Viz.
