Lawson's Petition.
THE humble Petition of John Lawson, of Brough, in the County of York, Esquire, was this Day read.
Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee of publick Debts, to examine the Truth thereof, and to state the Matter of Fact; and report the same to the House within Twenty Days now next coming: And that in the mean time, the Payment of the Second Moiety for the Purchase of the Petitioner's Lands, be respited; and no Advantage to be taken for Non-payment thereof: And that the Trustees for Sale of Lands and Estates forfeited to the Commonwealth for Treason, and the Treasurers, and other Officers, are to take Notice hereof.
Justices of Peace.
Ordered, That the Committee for Regulating of Justices of Peace, be authorized and required forthwith to send unto the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England, the Names of such Persons as the said Committee have approved, or shall approve, to be Justices of the Peace in the respective Counties: And that the Lords Commissioners be authorized and required forthwith, upon Receipt thereof, to issue Commissions of the Peace into the respective Counties, for those Persons only who shall be so certified to them by the said Committee, and to no others.
Petition from Barking.
Resolved, That the humble Petition of divers Inhabitants of the Parish of Barking, in the Forest of Waltham in Essex, be referred to the Committee for Petitions, to examine the Matter; and report to the Parliament within Three Days.
Irish Adventurers.
The House resumed the Debate upon the Bill for the speedy and effectual Satisfaction of the Adventurers for Lands in Ireland, &c. and adjourned the Debate till To-morrow Morning.
