Wednesday, 10th November, 1652.

Prayers.

TrinityHouse.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider how the Trinity-House is governed, and the Poor there maintained; and report their Opinion therein to the Parliament.

Army and Navy.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to bring in an Estimate of the Charge, both in relation to the Army and to the Fleet, for the next Year, together with the several incident Charges to either of them: And the Council are hereby impowered to send for the Committee of the Army, and to consider with them for that Purpose.

Bishops, &c. Lands.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for removing Obstructions for the Sale of the Bishops and Dean and Chapters Lands, be authorized and impowered to summon all and every the Purchasers of any Lands of the late Bishops, Dean and Chapters, who shall be certified by the Treasurers of those Lands to be in Arrear for their First or Second Moieties, or any Part thereof; and to compel the Payment in of all such Monies as are or shall be in Arrear, as aforesaid; and, in Default of Payment thereof, to sequester the Lands and Estates of such Purchaser, until Payment be made; and, upon Payment thereof, with Interest since the same ought to have been paid, to discharge such Sequestration.

Ordered, That Mr. Strickland do make the Report of the Bill for Sale of Forest-Lands, on Wednesday Morning next.

Ordered, That the Committee, who are appointed to peruse the Names to be inserted into this Additional Bill, do meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And that Mr. Solicitor be added to that Committee; and do take care of that Business for the perfecting of the Bill.

Delinquents Estates.

The House resumed the Debate upon the List of the Names of such Persons whose Estates have been confiscated for Delinquency since 1648.

Resolved, That the Name of Richard Whiterow, of Whitechapell, Mariner, be inserted into this Bill.

Resolved, That the Name of Littleton Clent, of Knightwick in the County of Worcester, be inserted into this Bill.

The House proceeded to the Names under the next Head.

The Question being put, That the Name of Thomas Starchey, of Stretton in the County of Chester, Esquire, be inserted into this Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for compounding, and the Treasurers of that Receipt, be authorized and required to admit and accept of the Sum of Money due for a Fine upon the Composition of Thomas Starchey, of Stretton in the County of Chester, Esquire, so as he pay in the same, with Damages for the Forbearance thereof since it should have been paid, according to the Rates before and since the Statute, by or before the First Day of March next; and, upon Payment thereof by the Time aforesaid, to discharge the Sequestration of his Estae.

The humble Petition of George Tonge, of Denton in the Bishoprick of Duresme; and of Ralph Delavall and Wm. Garland, of High Holborne in Com' Midd' Gentlemen; was this Day read, together with a Certificate of the Commissioners for compounding.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for compounding with Delinquents, and the Treasurers of Goldsmiths-Hall, be authorized and required to admit and accept of the Money due for the Fine upon the Composition of George Tonge, of Denton, in the County of Duresme, so as he pay the same, together with Interest for Forbearance thereof since it should have been paid, at the several Rates before and since the Statute, on or before the First Day of February next; and, upon the Payment thereof by the Time aforesaid, to discharge the Sequestration.

The humble Petition of Sir Wing field Bodenham Knight was this Day read.

The Question being put, That the Name of Sir Wingfield Bodenham Knight be put into this Bill;

A Certificate of Michaell Herring, one of the Treasurers of Goldsmiths-Hall, on Behalf of Thomas Norris, of Speake in the County of Lancaster, Esquire, was this Day read.

The Question being put, That the Name of Thomas Norris, of Speake, in Com' Lancaster, Esquire, be inserted into this Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Commissioners for Compounding; and that, if it shall appear to them, that Thomas Norris, of Speake in the County of Lancaster, Esquire, hath paid in his full Fine imposed on him for his Delinquency, with Interest, that then the said Commissioners be authorized and required to discharge his Sequestration, as if he had paid the same in due Time.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Commissioners for Compounding; and that if it appear to them, that Wm. Farrington, Gentleman, Son and Heir-apparent of William Farrington, of Worden in the County of Lancaster, Esquire, hath paid in his full Fine imposed on him for his Delinquency, with Interest, that then the said Commissioners be authorized and required to discharge the Sequestration, as if he had paid the same in due Time.

Resolved, That the Name of Sir Wm. Quadring, of in the County of Lincoln, be inserted into this Bill.

Resolved, That the Name of Norris Fines, of in the County of Lincoln, be inserted into this Bill.

The Question being put, That the Name of Henry Hastings, late of Woodland in the County of Dorsett, Esquire, deceased, be inserted into this Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

The humble Petition of Jonathan Woodnoth Gentleman, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents, and the Treasurers for that Receipt, be authorized and required to admit and accept the Fine set for the Composition of Jonathan Woodnoth, with Damages for the same since it should have been paid, at the several Rates before and since the Statute, so as the same be paid in by the First of February next; and, upon Payment thereof by that Time, to discharge the Sequestration.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents, and the Treasurers for that Receipt, be authorized and required to admit and accept the Fine set for the Composition of Humfrey Borrington, of Bishopston in the County of Hereford, Gentleman, with Damages for the same since it should have been paid, at the several Rates before and since the Statute, so as the same be paid in by the First of February next; and, upon Payment thereof by that Time, to discharge the Sequestration.

The humble Petition of George Smyth, of Bowden in the County of Chester, was this Day read.

The Question being put, That the Name of the said George Smyth be inserted into this Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That George Smyth, of Sunderland in the County of Chester, be pardoned his Delinquency; and that the Fine, imposed on him for his Composition, be discharged; and that the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents be authorized and required to discharge and take off the Sequestration of his Estate, accordingly.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents, and the Treasurers for that Receipt, be authorized and required to admit of and accept the Payment in of the Remainder of the Fine imposed on John Boys, of Old Stock in the County of Somersett, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, so as he make Payment thereof, with Interest for the Forbearance thereof since it should have been paid, at the several Rates before and since the Statute, by or before the First Day of February next; and, upon Payment thereof, the said Commissioners do discharge the Sequestration, accordingly.

Resolved, That the Name of Rutter, of in the County of be inserted into this Bill.

The Question being put, That the Name of Richard Dutton, of Denbigh, be inserted into this Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Commissioners for Compounding, to consider and examine whether Richard Dutton of Denbigh, since the Payment of the first Moiety of his Fine, set upon him at Goldsmiths-Hall, hath compounded in Wales, and paid his Composition there; and in case he hath, that then the same be accepted in Discharge of his whole Fine; and that the said Commissioners for Compounding do discharge his Sequestration, accordingly.

The Question being put, That the Name of William Staresmore, of Frolesworth in the County of Leicester, Esquire, be inserted into this Bill;
