Letter, &c. read.

MR. Scott reports from the Council of State, a Letter from Shrewsbury, from Colonel Mackworth, of the * Day of *: With the Resolutions given by the Court Martial, holden at Chester in the County of Chester, the First of October 1651, upon James Earl of Derby, Sir Timothy Fetherston Haugh, and Captain John Benbowe, therein inclosed: Which were this Day read.

He also reports, The Transcript of a Letter from Rochell, of the Fifth of October 1651, from Ben. Whetcombe: Which was also this Day read.

Garisons.

The House this Day resumed the Debate upon the Report made from the Council of State on Thursday last, touching the several Garisons in England and Wales, and Edenburgh and Lieth, in Scotland; together with their present Charge; and also the Charge of them to which they are propounded to be reduced.

Garisons.

Resolved, That the House doth agree with this Reducement for Gloucester, with the Addition of a Chirurgeon, and a Marshal: And that it be referred to the Council of State, to make that Addition in the Establishment, accordingly.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army to bring in an Establishment, according to this Reducement and Votes.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to take Notice of this Reducement, and the Votes touching the same; and to give Order for the Payment, accordingly.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take Care that the Garisons which are to be laid down, be made untenable, and slighted; and that the same be done effectually.

Artillery.

Resolved, That this House doth agree to the continuing of the Train of Artillery, at the Rate of 1,689£. 3s. 2d. a Month.

Irish Affairs.

Resolved, That the House do, on this Day Fortnight, take into Consideration the Business of Ireland.

Disbanding Forces.

Resolved, That the Committee of the Army be authorized and required, to issue out such Monies as the Council of State shall appoint, for the disbanding of those, that, by Orders of Parliament, the General shall send his Warrants to disband: Or, for the Encouragement and the Entertainment of such as shall be thought fit to be sent for Ireland.
