Sir Henry Vane junior reports from the Council of State, That there are many of the Militia Forces that are marched out of their several Counties, for the present Service; that the Act for the Militia seems to give Power for only one Month's Pay; that it may so fall out, that those Forces may be necessitated to continue out for a longer Time; and much of the First Month is already spent: The Council do therefore humbly offer it to the Consideration of the Parliament, that some Course be presently taken for a further Supply for them, that they be not necessitated to Free Quarter, or suffer any other Inconveniencies for want thereof.
Resolved, by the Parliament, that an Act be brought in To-morrow Morning, for enabling the several Militias of the several Counties to raise One Month's Pay for the respective Forces as have been by the said respective Counties raised, or to be raised, and sent, for the present Service, according to the Act for the Militia: And Major Lister is to bring in an Act accordingly.
