Prayers.

Act of Navigation.

THE House, according to former Order, was resolved into a grand Committee upon the Bill for Increase of Shipping, and Increase of the Navigation of this Nation.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Love took the Chair.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

The Question being put, That the Petition of Mr. Love be received, and read;

It passed with the Negative.

Public Fast.

Resolved, That the Day of Humiliation be put off until Tuesday next; and, that That Day be observed in the same Place formerly appointed.

Letters read.

A Letter from Major General Lambert, from Leek, of the Eighteenth of August, Twelve at Night, 1651, was this Day read.

A Letter from Coventry of the Twentieth of August 1651, Twelve of the Clock at Noon, from the Committee of Coventrie, was this Day read.

Temple's Estate.

An Act for the settling of divers Manors and Lands of Sir Peter Temple, Knight and Baronet, and Richard Temple, Esq; his Son and Heir apparent, upon Trustees for Payment of Debts and other Uses, was this Day read the first and second time: and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Love, Mr. Challoner, Mr. Hill, Sir John Hippisley, Ld. Monson, Mr. Bond, Mr. Oldesworth, Sir Richard Lucy, Mr. Garland, Sir Wm. Brereton, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Moyle, Sir Thomas Jervoise, Col. Purefoy, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Trenchard, Sir Henry Mildmay, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Masham, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Hussey, Mr. Ash, Mr. Lenthall, and all the Lawyers of the House, or any Five of them, with Power to call all other the Creditors of Sir Peter Temple before them, and to hear them; and also to take care, that the Lady Baltinglasse be not prejudiced in her Interest by this Act: And this Committee are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber, and so de die in diem.

Ordered, That the Business of the Carmen be taken up this Day Seven-night the first Business.

Ordered, That Mr. Peck's Bill be read the first Business To-morrow Morning.
