Prayers.

THE Grand Committee of the House for Religion; according to former Order, sat, to take into further Consideration the Business for Keeping of scandalous Persons from the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Ordered, That the Ordinance for appointing and settling a present Maintenance of Ministers in the County of Middlesex ...... on Monday Morning next.

Ordered, That Mr. Scott, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country for a Month.

A Letter from Mr. Rushworth, from Chidley, of 26 Januarii 1645, relating the Taking in of PowdramCastle, was this Day read: There were inclosed divers Letters, intercepted, in Cypher; one in a Tassety or Sarsenet: Part whereof were read (fn. 1).

Ordered, That the intercepted Letters, in Cypher, this Day presented to the House by Mr. Speaker, be referred to Mr. Wakerlyn, to be decyphered, if it may be (fn. 2).

ORdered, by the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament, That the Cursitors do prepare Writs of Error, returnable in Parliament, without further Order: And the Commissioners for the Great Seal of England are to pass the same under the said Great Seal, accordingly.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to take what Care may be to prevent the Spoiling of the Countries by a Party of the Enemies Horse now informed to be in the County of Wiltes, or in Hants.

ORdered, by the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament, That William Powell, Treasurer to the Sub-Committee for Accompts in the County of Surrey, do pay unto Mr. Sackford Gonson the Sum of Five hundred Pounds of the Money he hath received, by Order of the said Sub-Committee, from several Officers, and other Persons, within the County of Surrey, and is remaining in his Hands: Which Money shall be disposed of towards the Paying of the Arrears due unto the Officers and Soldiers under the Command of Colonel Fielder.

Ordered, That the Report concerning the Business of Ireland be made on Monday Morning, the first Business: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in mind hereof.

Resolved, &c. That the First Proposition, concerning the declaring null all Oaths, Declarations, and Proclamations, against both Houses of Parliament, shall be one of the Propositions that shall be now sent to the King.

Resolved, &c. That the Proposition concerning the calling Common-Councils in the City of London, &c. shall be one of the Propositions that shall be now sent to the King.

Resolved, &c. That a Clause be added to the First Proposition, whereby all the Proceedings of the Parliaments of each Kingdom, and of Both or Either of the Houses of Parliament, and of all that have acted by their Authority or Allowance, be asserted, and declared just and lawful.

Resolved, &c. That the Proposition for confirming the Treaties between the Two Kingdoms shall be one of the Propositions, that shall be now sent to the King.

Mr. Sollicitor, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Whitelocke, Mr. Reynolds, Sir Henry Vane, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Bacon, Sir Thomas Widdrington, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Samuel Browne, Colonel Martin, Mr. Prideauxe;

This Committee, or any Three of them, are appointed to prepare a Bill relative to the Propositions that are resolved to be now sent to the King, for Enacting of them, and making them Laws: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Exchequer-Chamber; and are to report it To-morrow Morning: And the Care of this Business is especially referred to Mr. Whitelocke and Sir Thomas Widdrington.

They are likewise to prepare a Clause to be added to the First Proposition, for declaring just and lawful the Proceedings of the Parliaments of each Kingdom, and of both or either of the Houses, respectively, and of all such as have acted under them, or by their Authority or Allowance.
