Prayers.
ACcording to an Order made on Saturday last, the House was resolved into a Committee, to take into Consideration the Papers from the Scotts Commissioners, touching the Marching of their Army to Newarke, &c.

Mr. Speaken resumed the Chair.
Upon Mr. Purye's Report from the Grand Committee appointed to consider of the Three last Papers from the Scotts Commissioners;
It is Resolved, &c. That the Scotts Answer, touching the Marching of their Army to besiege Newarke, is not satisfactory.
Resolved, &c. That the Scotts Commissioners be desired to give a positive and speedy Answer touching their Army's marching to besiege Newarke.
Resolved, &c. That Thirty thousand Pounds be provided for the Scotts Army; to be paid unto them, upon Account, at or before the First of November next ensuing, in case their Army be then before Newarke.
Resolved, &c. That some Gentlemen be sent into the City of London to borrow Thirty thousand Pounds, towards the Pay of the Scotts Army: And that the Assessments, due and payable out of the several Counties for that Army, shall be the Security for Repayment of the said Money, together with Interest for Forbearance thereof.
Resolved, &c. That Thursday next be assigned to the Committee of Goldsmiths-Hall, to report to the Grand Committee the Obstructions concerning the not Coming in of the Assessments for Payment of the Scotts Army.
Resolved, &c. That Two hundred Barrels of Powder, with Bullet proportionable, and a double Proportion of Match, be forthwith provided and furnished for the Scotts Army, in case they shall be before Newarke by the First of November next.
Ordered, &c. That the Members of both Houses, that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, do this Afternoon communicate these Votes to the Commissioners of Scotland; and desire their Answer.

Sir Henry Cholmely, Mr. Bainton, Mr. Edw. Ash, Mr. Crew, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Longe, Mr. Tate, Sir Philip Stapleton, Mr. Lemon, Mr. Bedding feild, Sir Tho. Soame, Lord Grey, Lord Fairefaxe, Mr. Darley, Sir Wm. Constable, Sir Wm. Brereton, Mr. Jesson;
This Committee, or any Five of them, are to go into the City, for the Borrowing of Thirty thousand Pounds for the Scotts Army, upon the Security of the Assessments for that Army.
Ordered, &c. That Mr. Broxholme shall have Leave to go into the Country.
Resolved, &c. That the House be resolved into a Grand Committee, and do sit upon Thursday Morning, to take the other Particulars, in the Three Papers last delivered in by the Scotts Commissioners, into Consideration.
Ordered, &c. That the Business concerning Sir Tho. Fairefaxe's Army, be taken into Consideration, the first Business, To-morrow Morning.
A Letter from Elsemere, from Colonel-General Pointz, of 1 Octobris 1645, was this Day read: And
It is thereupon Ordered, That it be referred to the Members of this House, that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, to give a speedy Dispatch to it: And Sir Philip Stapleton is to take care of it.
An Ordinance for the Charging of Five thousand Pounds upon the Receipts of the Excise, in Course, with Interest for the same, for the Service of the Forces under Colonel-General Pointz, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.
