Prayers.

REsolved, &c. That the First Part of Mr. Whittacre's Report from the Grand Committee of Religion, concerning the Addition of these Words, "and other notorious scandalous Sins," to be added to the Offences formerly voted by the House, for which Persons guilty of them shall be suspended from the Sacrament, be re-committed to the Grand Committee for Religion.

Resolved, &c. That the Second Part of Mr. Whittacre's Report, concerning this Proposition; videlicet, "When Elderships (by which we understand the Minister and Elders together) are first settled, none to be admitted to the Lord's Supper, but such as, before their First Admission, are particularly approved by the Eldership, both for their Knowledge (upon careful Tryal and Examination), and for their Conversation void of Scandal;" be re-committed unto the Grand Committee for Religion.

Resolved, &c. That the Grand Committee for Religion do meet on Monday next, at Eight of Clock, to take into Consideration the First and Second Part of the Report made by Mr. Whittacre, according to the Votes aforesaid.

A Message from the Lords, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath;

The Lords have commanded us to bring this Ordinance: It is for the Maintenance of the Garisons in the Eastern Association: They have agreed to it, with some Amendments; to which they desire your Concurrence. They desire a Reference of the Business concerning free Trade, to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Foreign Affairs: And they do desire a Dispatch of Captain Hutchins and Captain Copley's Business. They have sent you also a Copy of a Letter, to be sent to Sir Thomas Fairfax, from both Houses; to which they desire your Concurrence.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

The House has considered their Lordships Message; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of Two Burgesses for the City of Chichester in the County of Sussex, in the places of Sir Wm. Morley Knight, and Christopher Lewkener Esquire; both of them being disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as Members, during this Parliament.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of one Burgess for the Borough-Town of Gatton in the County of Surrey, in the place of Sir Samuel Oldfeild, deceased.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of one Burgess for the Borough-Town of Rigate in the County of Surrey, in the place of Sir Thomas Bludder; who, by Judgment of this House, is disabled to sit here as a Member, during this Parliament.

That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of one Burgess for the Borough-Town of Newcastle upon Tyne, in the room and place of Sir Henry Anderson; who, by Judgment of this House, is disabled to sit here as a Member, during this Parliament.

Ordered, by the Commons, assembled in Parliament, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of one Burgess for the Borough-Town of Hartford in the County of Hartford, in the place of Sir Thomas Fanshaw; who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as a Member, during this Parliament.

Ordered, by the Commons, assembled in Parliament, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the new Election of one Burgess for the BoroughTown of Huntingdon in the County of Huntingdon, in the place of the Lord Mountague, who is called by Writ to sit in the House of Peers.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue out a Writ, for the new Election of a Baron for the Town and Port of Rye in the County of Sussex, being one of the Cinque-Ports, in the room and place of Mr. White, who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as a Member of this House, during this Parliament.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the issuing out a Writ, for the new Election of Two Barons for the Town and Port of Winchelsey in the County of Sussex, being one of the Cinque-Ports, in the room and place of Sir John Finch, deceased, and Wm. Smyth Esquire, disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as Members of this House, during this Parliament.

Ordered, &c. That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the Issuing out of a Writ, for the new Election of Two Barons for the Town and Port of Hastings in the County of Kent, being one of the CinquePorts, in the rooms and places of Sir Thomas Eversfeild and Mr. Ashbornham, being disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as Members of this House, during this Parliament.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for the issuing forth a Writ, for the new Election of one Burgess for the Town of Arundell in the County of Sussex, in the room and place of Sir Edward Alford, who is disabled, by Judgment of this House, to sit here as a Member of this Parliament.

A Letter from the Commissioners of the Parliament of England, from Barwick, of 27 Augusti 1645, with a Paper inclosed, of 26 Augusti 1645, containing the Desires of the Lord Chancellor of Scotland, and others, this Day read.

A Letter from the Scotts Commissioners, from Worcester-House, of the Third of September 1645, was this Day read.

Ordered, That Colonel-General Points, and Colonel Rosseter, and the rest of the Forces joined, or to join with them, do pursue the King, and his Forces, wheresoever they march: And, in case they go towards Hereford, that they make what possible Speed they can after them, and take special Care of the Scotts Army: And that they hold Correspondence with General Leven: And that in case the King's Forces go towards Bristoll, that they do then follow them thither; and do hold Correspondence with Sir Thomas Fairfax; and so from time to time, as the King's Motions shall be, and as Occasion shall serve: And that the Committee of both Kingdoms do acquaint the Scotts Commissioners with this Order.

Ordered, That the Committee of the Militia of London do forthwith provide Twenty Dragoons, or mounted Musqueteers, or other sufficient Convoy, to be ready by Two of the Clock this Afternoon, at farthest, to go along with the Monies designed for Colonel-General Points, as a Convoy, to St. Albanes: And Mr. Ashe is to acquaint the Committee of the Militia with this Order.

Ordered, That the Letter from Mr. Pindar, from Gloucester, of 29 Augusti, be referred to the Committee of the Army.

Ordered, That Five hundred Pair of Pistols be forthwith furnished out of the publick Stores for the Service of the Scotts Army: And that the Committee of GoldsmithsHall do pay for these Pistols.
