Prayers.

Ordered, That Mr. Selden do, on Saturday next, peremptorily, report, from the Committee, the Business concerning the printing the Greek Bible.

Mr. Scawen reports, from the Committee, the Ordinance for bringing in the Arrears of the Monies levied upon several Ordinances in the Earl of Manchester's Association: The which was read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Ordered, That the Earl of Manchester's Commissary do forthwith take the Muster of Sir Tho. Hoogan's Regiment, lying at Farneham: And that the Treasurers of the Earl of Manchester's Association do forthwith, upon Muster, pay unto the said Forces a Fortnight's Pay.

Ordered, That the Committee, formerly appointed by Order of March the 10th, do go, this Afternoon, to the Court of Aldermen, and Committee of Common-Council; and treat with them upon the bringing in the Eighty thousand Pounds, propounded to be lent by the City; and that Six thousand Pounds thereof may be paid, by Order of the Committee for the Army where Mr. Scawen has the Chair, on Tuesday next, to such Persons, and by such Proportions, as That Committee shall direct and think fit.

Ordered, That the Members of this House, that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, be injoined not to receive any private Petition, or to make any Report upon it.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Fifteen hundred Pounds, for Discharge of the Delinquency of Sir Rich. Stone to the Parliament: And do order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate: And that a Thousand Pounds hereof be paid, upon Account, to Sir Gilb. Gerard, Treasurer at Wars; whereof Five hundred Pounds, towards the Payment of the Widows; and Five hundred Pounds, towards the Pay of the Waggoners; and Five hundred Pounds to Mr. Trenchard, towards the Pay of the Waggoners.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Five hundred Pounds of Sir John Kaye, for Discharge of his Delinquency to the Parliament: And doth order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Two hundred Marks of Mr. Wm. Thorneton, for Discharge of his Delinquency to the Parliament: And doth order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of One thousand Pounds from F. Nevile Esquire, for Discharge of his Delinquency to the Parliament; whereof Five hundred Pounds in present, and Five hundred Pounds within Three Months after the Country where his Estate lies, shall be settled in Peace: And doth order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Three hundred Pounds from John Clerke, Alderman of the City of Coventry, for Discharge of his Delinquency to the Parliament: And doth order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for the Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Five hundred Pounds from Mr. James Altham, and this next Lady-Day's Rent, for the Discharge of his Delinquency to the Parliament: And doth order, That an Ordinance be brought in, for the Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

Resolved, &c. That the Fine of Five hundred Pounds, set upon Mr. Covert, for his Delinquency to the Parliament, shall be reduced to Three hundred Pounds: And that, upon the Payment thereof, or giving Security to the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall for the Payment thereof, that the Sequestration of his Estate be taken off, and discharged.

Resolved, &c. That the Fine of One thousand Pounds, set upon Sir Rich. Norton Knight and Baronet, for his Delinquency to the Parliament, shall be reduced to Five hundred Pounds: And that an Ordinance be brought in, for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate.

An Ordinance for the Discharge of the Delinquency of Wm. Thorneton, of the County of Lincolne, Gentleman, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Ordered, That Sir Roger Burgoyne do take care to bring in the Arrears of the Scotts Monies in the County of Bedford, by the Day limited by the former Order.

Ordered, That the Oath to be tendered to such Delinquents, as come in upon Composition, be read; and taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next.

Upon Report from the Committee of both Kingdoms, by Sir Gilb. Gerard, of the particular Charges for Two Forts to be raised near the Town of Reading; and upon Certificate delivered in by Serjeant-Major-General Skippon, approving the Reasonableness of the Particulars of the said Charges demanded, upon Perusal thereof;

It is Resolved, &c. That the Sum of One thousand Two hundred and Eighty-four Pounds Nine Shillings be forthwith raised and provided for defraying the particular Charges of erecting the said Forts: And that it be referred to the Committee of the Associated Counties of Buck', Berk' and Oxon, to furnish the said One thousand Two hundred and Eighty-four Pounds Nine Shillings.

Ordered, That the Arrears due to Serjeant-Major-General Skippon be forthwith audited; and his Debentures made out: And that Five hundred Pounds be forthwith advanced and paid unto him, upon Account, and deducted out of the Arrears due unto him: And that this Five hundred Pounds be charged upon the Excise: And that Mr. Nicoll do press the Commissioners of Excise herein.

Ordered, That the Committee of Berk', Buck', and Oxon, do, on Monday next in the Afternoon, confer and consider with the Committee of the Militia in London; and settle some Course for the Preservation and Maintaining the Garison of Windsore-Castle.

Resolved, &c. That Two hundred Pounds be forthwith advanced, and charged upon the Excise, for the Pay of the Soldiers in the Garison of Windsore, after the Rate . . Sixty Pounds per Week.

An Ordinance for constituting and establishing the Mayor, Recorder, and other Officers in the Town of Newcastle; and for displacing, disabling, and disfranchising the Mayor, Recorder, and other Officers, Delinquents, of the Town of Newcastle; was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto the Committee for the Northern Parts, where Sir Thomas Widdrington has the Chair; with the Addition of Mr. Lisle, Mr. Holles, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Tate, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Sandis, Sir Wm. Strickland, Sir Gilb. Pickering, Mr. Cage, Sir Henry Heyman, Mr. Bainton, Doctor Eden, Mr. Heveningham, Mr. Gourdon, Sir Walter Erle, Sir Rob. Harley, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Knightly, Mr. Browne, Sir John Francklyn, Sir Wm. Lewes, Sir Edward Bois, Colonel Ven: And are to meet on Monday next, at Two post meridiem, in the Exchequer-Chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, &c.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Fairefax be desired, that Colonel Holborne's and Colonel Weldon's Regiments, now upon Service in the West, be continued there, until further Order from Sir Thomas Fairfax: And that the Regiments be there recruited, if it may be.

Ordered, That all the Reports, from the Committee of both Kingdoms, be made on Monday next, peremptorily, the first Business: And that the Report from the Committee of both Kingdoms, concerning Farnham-Castle, in Surry, be first made: And that Mr. Speaker put the House in mind hereof.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concurr with the Lords, in granting a Pass to Mrs. Elizabeth and Mrs. Anne Mordant, Sisters to the late Earl of Peterburgh, to go beyond Sea.

Ordered, That, on Tuesday next, peremptorily, the first Business, Mr. Maynard do make Report of the Business concerning Mr. John Griffyth.

Upon the humble Petition of Thomas Seppens, a Prisoner in Newgate, convicted, and adjudged to Death, by the Court Martial; and reprieved by Order of this House;

It is, upon the Question, Ordered, That the said Thomas Seppens be fully pardoned for his said Offence: And that the Lords Concurrence be desired herein.

Upon a Report this Day made from the Committee of both Kingdoms, "That this Committee, according to the Order of the House of the Nineteenth of February, hath taken into Consideration the Fortifying and Garisoning of the Peninsula of Loving-Land, in the County of Suffolk; and, upon Information taken concerning it, the Committee finds no Cause of either Garison or Fortification there;"

It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve of the Opinion of the Committee touching the not fortifying, or garisoning the Peninsula of Loving-Land, in the County of Suffolk.

Ordered, That all Monies in Arrear in the Associated Counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertford, Cambridge, Huntingdon, and Lincoln; which the Earl of Manchester hath been formerly enabled, by Ordinance of Parliament; to assess or receive, be forthwith levied and paid in to such Treasurer or Treasurers respectively, as the said Earl hath formerly appointed to receive the same; and to be disposed of according to such Directions, as shall be given by the Houses of Parliament; the said Treasurers respectively rendering an Account thereof to the Committee of Accounts of the Kingdom, whensoever he or they shall be thereunto required.

Whereas Wm. Thornton, of Wyham in the County of Lincoln, Gentleman, hath been fined at Two hundred Marks for his Delinquency, to pay the same, by way of Composition, to the Use of the State; and, in pursuance of the said Composition, hath paid the same to the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, intrusted for that Service: It is this Day therefore Ordered, Ordained, and Declared, by the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament; and the said Lords and Commons do hereby Order, Ordain, and Declare, That the Sequestration of the said Wm. Thornton his Estate, in what County or Place soever, shall be, and is hereby, taken off and discharged, from the Day of the Making of his said Composition, being the Seventh of this Instant March; and his Delinquency against the Parliament pardoned and remitted; any former Direction, Declaration, or Ordinance, notwithstanding.
