Christopher Weaver of Stamford, co. Lincoln, gent v Jeffery Wallett of Cublett, co. Lincoln, brewer
January - February 1640
Abstract
Weaver complained that Wallett said in May 1638, at Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, that he 'was a base stinking gentleman' and 'swore by deepe oaths' that he was 'a base stinking rascally knave and...that he would justifie it.' Process was granted on 2 January 1640 and Weaver entered bond on 12 February; but nothing further survives.

'One Jeffery Wallett of Cublett in the county of Lincoln, brewer, did in May 1638, at Market Deeping, say that the petitioner was a base stinking gentleman, and likewise swore by deepe oaths that the petitioner was a base stinking rascally knave, and said that he would justifie it.'
Petitioned that Wallett be brought to answer.
Maltravers granted process on 2 January 1640.

Bound to appear 'in the Court in the painted Chamber within the Pallace of Westminster'.
Signed by Christopher Weaver, here given as of St Giles, Cripplegate, London.
Sealed, subscribed and delivered in the presence of John Watson.
Notes
Christopher Weaver of Stamford was the son of Richard Weaver of Presteigne, co. Radnor, and Christian, daughter of James Walkerell of Presteigne. Christopher married Alice, daughter of John Green of Market Overton, co. Rutland, and he was included in the Visitation of 1634.
