Abstract

The cause of Ellis's complaint against Manwood remains unknown, but on 20 November 1638, £20 in costs were awarded against Manwood.

Notes

In April 1638 Jasper Manwood was among the commissioners appointed to investigate frauds of fir timbers and deal boards imported into England.

Jasper Manwood may have been related to Sir John Manwood, M.P. Lieutenant of Dover castle. This Sir John Manwood was the son of Peter Manwood of Canterbury.
