William Bunting of East Greenwich, co. Kent, gent v Richard Hughes of the same, bricklayer

November 1637

Abstract

Bunting claimed that Hughes, a local bricklayer, said to him on 7 November 1637, 'Thou art a drunken cheating knave; thou art a rascall; thou art a rogue. I will justifie the same, and I pray sett it downe in writing and I will putt my hand to it.' Process was granted and the case came before Lord Maltravers on 28 November; but no further proceedings survive.
