41 BENION V HIGHAM

Richard Benion of Coggeshall, co. Essex, gent v Thomas Higham of the same

November 1638 - February 1639

Abstract

The cause of Benion's complaint against Higham remains unknown, but by 21 February 1639 a settlement had been agreed.

Summary of proceedings

Dr Talbot and Dr Exton acted as counsel. Higham was to appear upon warning on 20 November 1638 and on 28 November it was decreed that Higham was to be attached. On 21 February 1639 the parties were summoned to appear but Dr Exton declared that a settlement had been agreed whereupon proceedings were relaxed.

Notes

Elizabeth, daughter of Richard Benion of Coggeshall, co. Essex, married John Cudmore of Kelvedon and the Inner Temple, counsellor at law.
