323. NICHOLAS DE SURTEYSE.
A fragment of the inquisition taken on the death of Nicholas de Surteyse (marked as missing in the Folio Calendar of 1806), and a very small fragment of the writ, have been found among the unsorted Miscellanea of the Chancery.
The inquisition is dated at Newcastle upon Tyne about Michaelmas, 11 Edward II. Its purport appears to be that the deceased held the town of [North Goseford] of the king in chief by service of a moiety ......., and other tenements as of a third part of the town of Ryhill in barony ........ (The rest is torn away.)

324. JOHN SON AND HEIR OF JOHN DE TIDEMERSH.
Writ missing.
BERKS. Proof of age taken at Tidemersh, 9 April, 11 Edward II.
The jurors (named) say that the said heir is 21 years of age and more, having been born at [Tidemersh], co. Berks, on 16 February, 23 Edward I, and baptized in the church of Tidemersh by Stephen de Morton, chaplain. Ralph ........, ........ rector of the church of Pangeburn, and Joan de Tidemersh, raised him from the sacred font.
