374. ROGER, BISHOP OF COVENTRY AND LICHFIELD.
Writ of plenius certiorari on the representation of Roger de Monte Alto, who has gone to Gascony in the king’s service, that a moiety of the manor of Tackele, held of him by William le Poure, deceased, by knight’s service, who demised the same for life to Roger bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, had been taken into the king’s hand on the death of the said bishop, 20 April, 24 Edw. I.
OXFORD. Inq. made at Oxford, 23 June, 24 Edward I.
Tackeley. William le Poure demised a moiety of the manor (extent given), to the said bishop for life only, date of demise unknown, with reversion to him and his heirs. He held that moiety by service of 1/2 knight’s fee of Roger de Monte Alto, to whom pertains the wardship by reason of the minority of Walter son and heir of the said William, who was 19 years of age at Easter last.

Memorandum. Whereas upon inspection of the rolls of the exchequer by the king’s mandate, it was found by the great roll of 34 Hen. III that Lettice Picot, mother of the said Laurence held of the king a virgate of land in Radeclive by service of 5s. yearly, which is part of the serjeanty of Radeclive, it was granted that the abovesaid Thomas should have seisin thereof and hold it by the said service, and on 28 May, 25 (Edw. I), he did fealty to the king, and made fine by 5s. for his relief.
