[LINCOLN;] WAPENTAKE OF ELLOE. Wednesday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 1 Edw. I.
Tyd. The manor (extent given with names of tenants), including 10a. arable held of John de Ros by service of 3s. and 1lb. pepper, a pasture, called Edikes, 80a. marsh, a windmill rendering 2d. yearly to Joan de Retherwyk, and 16a. marsh (marekkum) by the sea, held of the earl of Lancaster in chief by service of 1/2 knight’s fee and 5s. yearly.
Robert his son, aged 15 and more, is his next heir.

LINCOLN. Inq. made at Bardeneye on Thursday after St. Matthew, 31 Edw. I.
Tateshale. The castle and manor with the hamlet of Thorp (extent given), including a several fishery, held with other tenements in Norfolk, of the king in chief by barony by service of 1/2 knight’s fee and rendering 40s. fixed fine to the king yearly.
Kirkeby. A capital messuage with a croft, 40a. arable, 6a. meadow, a sheepfold, 6 free tenants, 6 villeins, 7 cottars, 1lb. pepper and pleas &c. of court, held of John de Bek by service of 20l. 13s. 1d. yearly.
Coningby. 15 free tenants rendering 31s. 4d yearly, held of the bishop of Carlisle and other lords by service of 3s. yearly.
Malteby. A court of free tenants every three weeks worth 1/2 mark yearly, tenure unspecified.

SUFFOLK. Inq. Friday after the Nativity of the Blessed Mary, 31 Edw. I.
Cratefeld [alias Gratefeld]. The manor (extent given), including 20a. several pasture in a close called ‘le Park,’ ‘gressilver’ and ‘maltsilver,’ held of Roger Bygot, earl of Norfolk and Marshal of England, by service of a clove gillyflower.

LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Holewell by Melton Moubray, on Monday after St. Bartholomew, 31 Edw. I.
Holewelle and Kettelby. 4l. 15s. 4d. rent of free tenants, 16l. 8s. 5 1/2d. rent of customers, 3s. rent of cottagers, 2 little plots of pasture in Kettelby, a fishpond, 3lb. pepper, 1/2lb. cummin, 4 capons, 31 hens from 31 bovates of land held in villenage, and perquisites of court, held of Sir Richard Basset of Weldon in chief by knight’s service.
He died on [Sunday] after St. Peter ad Vincula in the same year. Heir as above, aged 13 and more.
BERKS. Inq. Saturday the feast of St. Bartholomew, 31 Edw. I.
Shaldeburne. The manor (full extent given with names of tenants), including arable lands measured by the king’s perch, held of the king in chief by serjeanty viz.—by service of keeping and mewing a falcon-gentle of the king’s, and bearing it himself or by another to the king at the king’s command at his own costs, and staying there with the falcon as long as the king shall please at the king’s wages; and there ought to be paid to William de Harden 20s. yearly.
He held nothing else in the county.
