Entry 'In this Comitia there appeared a quack by name Ward, an ignorant fellow, who was convicted of the illegal practice of medicine: he promised to pay 40s. before next St. John the Baptist's Day and he was therefore permitted to depart.'

Entry W confessed to 16 years' bloodletting, purging and curing fevers. He said he had cured Mr Grymes' daughter, who suffered from apoplexy without convulsions, and many other epileptics (&c.). College found him guilty of illegal practice and extreme shamelessness.

Entry W was freed from prison after an action in the court against his imprisonment. It was decided that Dr Gilbert, Dr Hall, Dr Fleetwood, Dr Dalton and Dr Daniel (counsel) should represent the College.

Entry W was summoned but did not appear. It was alleged that he practised at markets.
