Entry Thomas Man of Inner Temple complained that N, a surgeon, had given mercurius dulcis for 4 days to M's wife, who died. N admitted giving the medicine, wch he'd had from Kendal, apothecary, 2 yrs before. N was rebuked for 'presuming to medle with so dangerous a medicine' and for defaming a gentlewoman.
