Entry Appeared about Lady Walsingham, who had smallpox. A gave her laudanum pills with the approval of Dr Moore. Dr DESPOTINE 223, an unlicensed foreign practitioner, was said to be involved, as was the apothecary Yardley. A had given almond milk and julep, and castor, saffron & oil of amber for 'fitt of the mother'. Accused Despotine of having caused Lady W's death (?).

Entry Dr DESPOTINE appeared and was told that A had referred the death of Lady Walsingham to an emulsion of almonds prescribed by D. D admitted that he had been called [to the patient] after Dr MOORE and A, but denied that he had prescribed em. of alm. - he said it was castor.
