Ewing v. Wallace.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of William Ewing, residing in Melville Street, Edinburgh; complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lord Ordinary in Scotland, of the 3d Day of April 1829; and also of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session there, of the First Division, of the 3d and signed the 5th Day of February 1831; and praying, "That the same may be reversed, varied or altered, or that the Appellant may have such Relief in the Premises as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that William Wallace, Writer to the Signet, may be required to answer the said Appeal:"

Galway Elective Franchise, Petitions for Extension of: (Grand Jury of Galway:)
A Petition of the Grand Jury of the County of the Town of Galway was presented and read; praying, "That their Lordships will be pleased to place the Roman Catholic Mercantile and Trading Classes upon an equal Footing with Protestants, in regard to the Elective Franchise as at present exercised by them in Galway."

Reform of Parliament, Petitions in favor of: (Heaton:)
Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Township of Heaton, in the County of York, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships, "That the Elective Franchise be extended to every Man who is in any Way called upon to contribute to either National or Local Taxation: That, in order to prevent those Evils with which Elections for Members of the House of Commons are now generally attended, Annual Parliaments be established, and that all Electors do give their Votes by Ballot; and to adopt such Measures as are calculated to restore Peace and Prosperity to the Nation:"

Sutton Vallence:
Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of Sutton Vallence, in the County of Kent, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships "for an immediate, efficient and real Reform in the House of Commons; and that the Continuance of this Reform be guaranteed by the Electors giving their Vote by Ballot; that all Sinecure Offices be forthwith abolished, and that the Salaries of all Statesmen and Public Officers be reduced; that those Taxes bearing chiefly upon the Labouring Classes be repealed, one of which, the Tax upon Malt, they would especially recommend for immediate Repeal; and lastly, that the present Mode of remunerating the Clergymen of the Established Church by means of Tithes be substituted by one less vexatious and oppressive to the Agriculturist, and more suited to the Ability of a suffering and impoverished Nation:"

Summer Vale:
Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of Summer Vale, in the Township of Crumpsall, in the Parish of Manchester, in the County Palatine of Lancaster, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships "to do Justice to a long-oppressed People, by repealing without Delay the Septennial Act, establishing Annual Parliaments, Universal Suffrage, and that insurmountable Bulwark of Freedom, the Vote by Ballot; and also by rendering intelligent Men in humble Circumstances eligible to serve in Parliament; thus giving to the People their proper Influence in the State, their Lordships will avert the Dangers which threaten this Empire, and merit the Blessings of a grateful Nation:"

Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Towns and Parishes of Rattray and Blairgowrie, County of Perth, Scotland, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships, "That the Elective System of Scotland be wholly revised, and the Franchise so extended as fully and fairly to represent the Property and Intelligence of the Country; and that instead of the present Manner of voting, a System of voting by Ballot should be introduced at all Elections, as the only Means calculated to protect the Electors and insure their Independence, and to prevent all disorderly Meetings and Proceedings:"
