ADDENDA TO GLOSSARY

Cotton, umple, add: Umple occurs also in the pseudo-Chancerain Assembly of Ladies (Skeat's Chaucerian and other Pieces, Glossary, p. 597), where it is explained as 'fine stuff in a single fold, fine gauze or lawn.' A variant MS. reading given by Prof. Skeat is vmpylle (op. cit. p. 573).
