James Walteri, licentiate of canon law, M.A. For the archdeaconry of Teviotdale, with annexed canonry and prebend of Glasgow, value 10s. void by the death of William M'Moyn, who held also the church of Kirkpatrick in the same diocese, notwithstanding that Gilbert de Moussald unlawfully holds the archdeaconry, and that the petitioner has the vicarage of Inver[le]than in the same diocese, and has a chaplaincy of St. Nicholas, Dalkeith, in the diocese of St. Andrews, and the canonry and prebend of Diskirk (Ashkirk), in Glasgow, which he is ready to resign, and is litigating about the church of Magracamis, in the diocese of Glasgow. As the archdeaconry is situate on the border, and has suffered by the wars between Scotland and England, the petitioner prays for dispensation to retain the said vicarage. Granted.

For commission to summon the chapter and the canon and prebendary of Barlanar, in the same church, touching certain rents or pension due to the bishop from the said prebend, and with consent of the chapter to suppress the prebend on the death of the said canon and prebendary, and to unite its fruits to the bishop's income.

William de Conyngham, bachelor of canon law, papal chaplain, kinsman of king James, and of Robert, duke of Albany, governor of Scotland, vicar of Dundonald, in the diocese of Glasgow. For a commission to some approved person to investigate and annul the pretended union of the church of Kingorn, value 40l. sterling, to the monastery of Holyrood, made by the pope on the petition of the abbot and convent, to take effect on the death of Walter Bel, then rector, or the granting to him of a yearly pension of 40l. Scots, upon which he resigned the said church, which has been held by the abbot and convent for six or seven years; they being already well provided for and able to meet all charges without the said church, which, as its appropriation has been gained by fraud, the pope is prayed to give to the petitioner, who is dispensed so as to hold a plurality of incompatible benefices.

That the pope would declare that the provision made to him of the church of Halis, in the diocese of St. Andrews, value 22l. sterling, void by the death of his kinsman, Richard Hunter, at the Roman court, was made with deliberation on consideration of the said defunct, and the poor scholars, his kinsmen, so that no prejudice may arise to the petitioner, who has accepted the church of Dunothir, in the diocese of St. Andrews, by virtue of a papal expectation. For the archdeaconry of Moray, with annexed prebend, value 20l. void by reason that James de Dunbar, now deceased, obtained also the precentorship when under age, and held them without dispensation. The petitioner has also the canonry and prebend of Moy in Moray, which he is ready to resign; the value of them and of the church of Erol is together 100l.
