William, bishop of Sodor. Whereas his cathedral church and precincts have been occupied as a fortress by the lord of the Isle of Man during the wars between England and Scotland, so that the bishops have greatly suffered, and divine service has ceased, he prays the pope to order the said lord to restore the said church to the bishop.
He also signifies that on account of the said wars few literate persons are found to hold benefices, and therefore prays for dispensation to ordain eight persons to the priesthood, who may hold benefices with cure of souls.
He also prays for licence to create three notaries.
And also, on behalf of his kinsman, Hugh Russell, S.C.L. for a benefice, value 50 marks with cure of souls, or 40 without, in the gift of the bishop and chapter of Lichfield.

Whereas Innocent VI. a little before death, made provision to him of the deanery of Wells, void by the death of John de Carlton, but as it was not so void, and is said to be reserved to the pope, and also as John held it and the church of Donington, without dispensation, he prays for confirmation of the provision, and is ready to resign the church, notwithstanding that he expects the prebend of Croppry in Lincoln. To this no answer is made.
And, as he does not hope to obtain the said deanery, he prays for a canonry of York, with expectation of a prebend.

Whereas in the priory of St. Mary's Wroxton, there is a chapel of St. Katherine, which threatens ruin, and whereas the prior and ten canons, whose fruits do not exceed 100 marks, cannot afford to restore it, they pray for an indulgence of three years and three quadragene to penitents who visit the same on the seven feasts of Our Lord, the five feasts of St. Mary the Virgin, and those of St. Katherine, St. Laurence, and St. Margaret, and in their octaves, and lend a helping hand to the building.
